Okay, a rules rant first. I HATE the locked in position #s rule. The only thing it does is attempt to level the playing field between people that take time and do research, and people that don't. If there's a bunch of newbies in the league, and it's predetermined that you're doing it for that reason, fine. But otherwise I would do everything I could to try to get that rule changed for next year so you have more roster flexibility. That rule is one of my pet peeves. And another question on that...you have 2QBs and 1TE on your roster when you start 2QBs and 1TE. What do you do when a bye week comes? Do you have to drop a starter? That would be insane. If position numbers are locked in, you have to have backups. Something seems fishy here...

On your roster....unless I'm missing it, it would be helpful to know to size of your league. If this is a 12 or 14 team league you might be okay. Anything less and you're in trouble. QBs are good, esp. that you have to start both. That's your strength, and that's good with 6 pt TD passes. IMO RBs are weak. I don't like Barber this year, and I don't think anyone is big on LJ. At this point I wouldn't draft Lewis even w/ my last pick, and McGahee is someone you can carry, hoping to catch lightning-in-a-bottle, but is probably dead weight. With Barber and LJ, it really depends on what round you drafted them in. I'm assuming something like 3rd/4th, but the problem is I don't see a true 1st or possibly even 2nd rounder (depending on league size) on your team. WRs are moderate. I'm low on Owens, but he's a starter...pray there. I do like Jackson as a WR2. One of Holmes, Moss, and Burleson will likely become a good WR3 starter and the rest good depth.

For the "anything I can do?" question....the main problem I see is a lack of "assets"....guys that other teams would covet in a trade. I would say your best assets are the QBs. Try to see if you could use Manning's name to get good value for him in a trade. Try to package Manning and McGahee for a Schaub/Ryan/Cutler type guy plus a RB2. Something like a Grant, Jacobs, or Portis. Yes, you'd likely be a little weaker at QB, but I see it as critical that you upgrade your RBs somehow. Maybe you could do that deal w/ McNabb instead of Manning (fingers crossed?)

As far as the pickups...the first thing you should do is watch the roster cuts today. If Jamal Lewis is cut, as many media outlets are saying may happen, then snatch up James Davis immediately. It's a small chance (he plays in Cleveland), but he may be the RB2 that would really change the outlook for your team. If that doesn't happen, I probably don't pick Davis up, though you could consider doing it still, dropping McGahee, and having Davis as a handcuff, albeit weak, for Lewis. Otherwise, I do like Ahmad Bradshaw. Brandon Jacobs misses games to injury every year, Derick Ward is not around anymore, and Bradshaw will play and have value even in games that Jacobs does play in. I would draft Bradshaw before Lewis and McGahee in every draft in every format I was in.

Hope this helps....please rate my roster.

What a great response Bstock. Awesome! And i couldnt agree with you more. I would really really try to play to one of your strengths here. NAMES. You have to try to get someone to bite on those names. Manning, T.O. Mcnabb. Those are the guys, with possibly LJ. But Manning and T.O. should be able to get someone interested. If you could swing something like Manning and T.O for an average QB and a decent starting RB that would be hot. You could also stock pile quality backups and hope you hit the lottery. Sproles, Chester Taylor, McCoy, guys like that. Good luck!!

Here is some info on the league...
-Weve been locked in at the req pos for 10 years and NObody wants to change it.... (ive tried)...
-As for the starting/bye week, we pick up a FA temporarily for that week and keep the bye week QB/TE on the bench...
-We are in a 10 tm league...
QBS are heavy in my league and the flex was just introduced this year. I had 6th pick in the draft and it went AP, Turner, Brees, Forte, Brady, then I took Manning seeing how the QBs went early...(plus Im not comfortable with MJD or Williams) then all the RBs fell off after my pick, in the 2nd I grabbed McNabb becasue I figured that with all the RBs taken there would be some middle tier ones on my 3rd, but a repeat happend and the only one staring at me was Barber in the 3rd. (3 teams in the league went RBS the first 3 rounds and they picked 1, 3 and 4, but they have the Peningtons and Quinns, etc. also)
I didnt realize the lack of depth after the 20th RB and now Im paying for it... I am safe in playing Barber/LJ as my RBs, but that flex is pushing me to start a WR as my flex week in and out.... In all honesty I am hoping to hear the Lewis gets cut so I can pick up Davis and be set on that, then the issue comes with McGahee.... dont like him, he was just a filler.....)
I appreciate the input on this... thanks
