Drafted 1st in a 12 team league. (WHIR)

Postby GoodStash » Sat Sep 05, 2009 6:10 pm

Was nervous drafting first in a 12 team league...We start 3 WR and 2 RB...Passing TDs are only worth 3 points so my strategy was to get all my WR/RBs first. Sense we start 3 WR, I wanted to make sure I had a good lot. Also, receiving yards are the same as rushing yards. Let me know what ya'll think...

QB1: Matt Ryan
QB2: Matt Hasselbeck
RB1: Adrian Peterson
RB2: Darren McFadden (ouch)
RB3:Derrick Ward
RB4: Leon Washington
RB5: Michael Bush
WR1: Reggie Wayne
WR2: Greg Jennings
WR3: Vincent Jackson
WR4: Jericho Cotchery
WR5: Mark Clayton
TE: Owen Daniels
TE2: Anthony Fasano
D/ST: Seattle (vs buffalo at home. Playing match-ups)

uhlgh . . .

Broken down by position below . . .

QBs - ;-D I think Hasselbeck will perform like a QB1 this year. He's got weapons and a great schedule, unless his back flares up or something.
QB1: Matt Ryan
QB2: Matt Hasselbeck

RBs - :-) :-/ Good news is you have the best Rb in the game. McFadden MAY pan out. No denying the kid has talent. That OAK team is horrible though, and looked horrible in the preseason. Ward is a servicable RB3 but he's in a 3-way RBBC with Graham and Caddy. You'll probably be competitive, with ADP compensating for the lack of consistenc from your other guys.
RB1: Adrian Peterson
RB2: Darren McFadden (ouch)
RB3:Derrick Ward
RB4: Leon Washington
RB5: Michael Bush

WRs - ;-D ;-D ;-D
Dude, you got some studs right there. There are probably better dudes available than Mark Clayton, who you will never ever play unless 2 of your other dudes have same-week byes.

WR1: Reggie Wayne
WR2: Greg Jennings
WR3: Vincent Jackson
WR4: Jericho Cotchery
WR5: Mark Clayton

TEs: :-) Daniels will get you consistent points, which is all you can ask for from most TEs. I would drop Fasano like a bad habit and snag Jermicheal Finley if he's available.

TE: Owen Daniels
TE2: Anthony Fasano

Overall, a very good team I think, ESPECIALLY for a 12 teamer. Well done. I am sure ther is somebody hurting for a QB. Maybe package Hass & Ward for a more consistent RB and pick up a young sleeper with your open slot (James Davis, etc.)

You're very strong at QB. At RB, Peterson is obviously good and McFadden has a lot of upside if he stays on the field because JaMarcus is terrible so they'll use the running game a lot. Not thrilled wth Ward because of Graham/Cadillac threat. Bush is a sleeper and good handcuff Overall, the RBs are good.

The WRs are decent. Jennings is great, but not enthused about Wayne because of his down year last year. VIncent Jackson is a great #3, though. I'd look for a better sleeper for the 5th spot, like Earl Bennett or someone with upside.

Daniels as a TE is underrated and probably good value where you drafted him.

QB - A
RB - B+
WR - B
TE - B-

thx for help with mine.

like you said we have very similar teams so obviously i like how you constructed yours.

i think that your team has a lot of consistent points scorers. matt ryan, peterson, wayne, owen daniels. all these guys will be pretty consistent week to week. i think you should find a way to upgrade at rb. i think you can keep mcfadden because of his upside, but get a better rb#3 than ward just in case dmac doesn't work out.
