For a 14 team league, you've got a good amount of above average players. Unfortunately it seems like beyond them (AP, Rodgers, Pierre Thomas, V-Jax), you're iffy. I would hate to count on Walter as a WR2, especially when the other WRs behind him aren't anything to write home about. Moreno probably isn't startable in the slot until later in the season when the Broncos' backfield situation sorts itself out.
If you're proactive in the free agent pool, you can still make an impact with your team but you desperately need a solution right now for the flex position.
In a 14 team league I'm sure you have one of the top teams...To have Rodgers on top of AP and Pierre is awesome!!!(there are worse tandems in some of the 10 team leagues I've seen.) Walters isn't the best WR2, but I guarantee the teams with better WRs than you don't have the QB/RB group you do. Knowshon isn't ready to start so I'd have to put in Taylor or Coles...(tough choice. both have an upside). I would keep my eye open for a good WR on the waivers. (is Percy Harvin available?) By mid-season, if your squad is healthy and Moreno is getting the ball, I see you cruising to the playoffs...
I picked up Josh Morgan for Jason Campbell, to hopefully give me more young WR depth with a chance of breaking out (Bennett, Morgan are good sleepers IMO).
Also available are the Giants receivers (Steve Smith Jr., Hakeem Nicks, Domenik Hixon). Are any of them good options? One of them probably will be, at least.
I think if you want to be safe pick up Steve Smith (NYG), and if you want to be risky pick up Hakeem Nicks. Nicks has absolutely torn it up in the preseason but it was against backups. Who knows though, maybe he's just that good. It's your call, I'd probably take one of them over J. Morgan though. Overall for a 14 team league it's not bad at all. People at my draft were crowing about P. Thomas and how he has knee problems but as far as I know he's going to be fine. Coles could end up in your starting lineup over Walter IMO.
I see a huge year for Aaron Rodgers. He and Greg Jennings have great chemistry, and he will do even better than last year. He also still has Donald Driver, who isn't too shabby.
Adrian Peterson will obviously have a stud year... That's expected out of the number 1 pick. Having Favre there will only make things easier. Pierre Thomas is a big sleeper, and if he performs anything like he did last year, he will be solid. Knowshon Moreno could either be a huge bust because of the stupid RB by committee deal in Denver (or because of injuries) or he could solidify himself as the number 1 back there and have a pretty good season. Chester Taylor is a good handcuff for Adrian, and he would start for a lot of teams. Rashard Mendenhall will also be fine, and will be even better if Willie Parker gets hurt.
WR: Vincent Jackson will receive plenty of targets as he and Philip Rivers have developed good chemistry. Kevin Walter will post another solid year especially if Schaub stays healthy, and if defenses continue to double team Andre Johnson. Josh Morgan will post solid numbers because there is no other receiver in San Fran (Issac Bruce maybe). Earl Bennett will do very well as he and Jay Cutler continue what they did at Vanderbilt. Laverneous Coles will do fine in Cincy, as long as Carson Palmer stays healthy.
TE: I'm not too big on Kellen Winslow, so many surgeries/injuries. However, he is a top 3 tight end when healthy, so there is lots of upside here.
K: John Carney had a solid year last year and will continue it this year.
D/ST: Jets will do fine this year. I like them a lot.
QB: Great starter, but it might be a risk to not have a backup, A- RB: Best RB, though P. Thomas IMO is rated to high, and Moreno is boom or bust, B to A+ WR: Ok guys, nothing special, Solid B TE: Possible breakout TE, B to A+ K+D/ST: Above Average, A- Bench: I know J. Morgan is rated as a sleeper by some, but he hasn't looked as good as last year. The rest look like very solid quality bench/part time players.
Overall I give your draft a A- with the potential to be A++ if everything works out like Rodger not getting hurt and having the year everyone suspects, P. Thomas having the year all the stats places say he will, and especially is Moreno becomes a top 10 back like he might this year.
I am a newbie so take my rating for what it's worth, just my 2 cents.
It looks pretty good to me for a 14 teamer. I actually do like Kevin Walter this year, you've really got to think that teams are going to break their backs trying to stop AJ and Slaton so he'll get his looks. Nice job nabbing Chester in round 11, that's perfect. You do need Moreno or Mendenhall to work out but I think you have a pretty good team. viewtopic.php?f=44&t=443873
