First PPR draft I've done, how'd i do? WHIR

Postby millini » Tue Sep 08, 2009 11:13 am

My league added a PPR this year. The settings are pretty basic, but there is 6 pts for any TD. 5 pt bonus for over 300 yds passing, 100 yds rushing, 100 yds receiving in a game. 1 pt per 10 yds rush/rec. 1 pt per 25 pass yds.

I had the eigth pick in a twelve team league, here's my team

QB: A. Rodgers (3), Flacco (14)
RB: S. Jackson (2), R. Bush (4), L. Washington (7), Ced Benson (8), A. Bradshaw (9), C. Buckhalter (13)
WR: A. Johnson (1), D. Bowe (5), E. Royal (6), Chris Henry (12)
TE: Owen Daniels (10), D. Keller (15)
DEF: Green Bay (11)
K: S. Graham (16)

We start 1 qb, 2 rb, 2 wr, 1 te, 1 flex (rb/wr/te), 1 kicker, 1 Def.

Hows my team looking? Do you think i should drop Buckhalter and pick up Washingtons Defense (they have some great matchups)
Anything i should try to add? The pick i'm the most torn on is reggie bush, he's a guy i NEVER look to draft, but the runningback options in round 4 were kinda slim and its a PPR league.

I'm not a big fan of drafting QBs early unless they fall into your lap but you could do a lot worse than Rodgers and he could be in for a big year.
Action Jackson is a good starting RB, but behind him you don't have a lot of consistency. Bush could end up racking up a lot of points because it's a PPR league, but he's no sure thing.
Andre Johnson is a stud, definitely, and your other WRs are decent. Chris Henry was a steal in the 12th round in my opinion. And Owen Daniels is a good TE.
All in all you have a solid team but if you can find any depth at RB you could probably use it unless Bush and Washington pan out.

Your team looks real solid. Great WR's. Love Bowe to have a huge year. As for Bush, I think he can bounce back this year, but yeah, I don't like to draft him. Really like Rodgers and Flacco as your backup. I think people don't like Benson because of his history, but he had a great last few games last year, and with a better team all around, look for him to carry the load. Rudi Johnson excelled in that offense when it clicked. They are going to click.

Getting Bowe in the fifth is huge. I would maybe keep Buck and see how that Den. running game shakes out for a week or two. He could be the man.

Love Aaron Rodgers this year and Flacco could be a nice sleeper QB. Andre Johnson is obviously a stud and Bowe will most likely be real nice. Steven Jackson is on slate to have a very nice year and all your backups are solid. Just going to have to see how they all do the first couple weeks to weed out the better ones. Owen Daniels is a great TE when Shaub is healthy. So lets hope he stays healthy cause he likes using him.

I completely agree with this post and the comment about Benson before. The Bengals are a much different team this year. More physical, more competitive. I'd look for them to make some noise this year, Benson I think will be added in many leagues when injuries hit. He may not be a top back or a top number 2 back. However he will be by the end of the year I think.
