Schaub is at it again - WHIR

Postby BearsFan65 » Tue Sep 08, 2009 5:49 pm

The man is simply killing me (again). With his day to day status I need another QB. 12 team PPR league, 40 yds/pt passing, td passes are 6 pts. We start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, no flex. My roster:

QB - Schaub
RB - Grant, Rice, DMC, McCoy
WR - A Johnson, C Johnson, Morgan, Avery, Harvin
TE - Gates
DEF - Vikings
K - Gould

Available QB's are Pennington, Flacco, Campbell, Stafford. Two part question: which QB to get, and who do I drop to do it? I lean toward Morgan as the drop only because the rest have tremendous upside, and Flacco as the add because he looks so damn comfortable in that offense (and the week 1 matchup against KC doesn't hurt either). Thoughts?

I'd add Flacco in favor of Morgan. Joe has a good Week 1 matchup and I think he's due for a big year.

Yeah, I'm with you. Morgan (a borderline WR4 in most formats) for Flacco (more upside than the other options).

yes, morgan is the definite drop. i would add flacco or pennington. i don't think last year was a fluke for either qb, so go with your gut on who you think will get your more points. with the 40 yds. per point, i'd go with the guy you think will throw more. that actually might be pennington. but either is a good choice. good luck!
PPR for QB, RB, WR; 1 pt. per 10 yds.; 6 pt. TD; 1 pt. per 15 return yds.
QB: Stafford, Newton
RB: Spiller, Sproles
WR: VJax, Cobb
TE: Myers
W/R: Ridley
Bench: McCoy, Mathews, Bryce Brown, Kaepernick, B. Powell, Gronkowski

Hate being in this spot, but you pretty much got it. Morgan has less upside than Harvin and Avery and seeing as you won't be starting any of the 3 in the near future go ahead and drop him. Flacco and Pennington are both good plays. I personally like pennington a bit more because Miami/ATL has the potential to be a higher scoring game than the chiefs and Ravens. It wouldn't surprise me to see Flacco throw less than 20 passes on Sunday as Baltimore is gonna roll 3 very good, very healthy RBs out there.
