Did My Draft Went Well? -- WHIR

Postby zechs » Tue Sep 08, 2009 7:30 pm

Stole AP with the 2nd pick in the draft. Other than that, I think I waited to draft a QB too long (the top 7 QBs were gone by the end of round 5!). Do you think I built a solid squad behind AP?

12-team H2H non-ppr league. All TDs = 6pts

Roster:
QB[1]: Carson Palmer, David Garrard
WR[3]: Roddy White, Chad Ochocinco, Eddie Royal, Earl Bennett
RB[1]: Adrian Peterson, Kevin Smith
TE[1]: Dustin Keller, Visanthe Shiancoe
W/R[1]: Pierre Thomas
K[1]: John Kasay
DEF[1]: Baltimore
DB[1]: Charles Tillman
LB[1]: DeMarcus Ware

Draft Result:
1. (2) Adrian Peterson
2. (23) Roddy White
3. (26) Pierre Thomas
4. (47) Chad Ochocinco
5. (50) Eddie Royal
6. (71) Carson Palmer
7. (74) Baltimore
8. (95) Kevin Smith
9. (98) Dustin Keller
10. (119) Earl Bennett
11. (122) David Garrard
12. (143) DeMarcus Ware
13. (146) Charles Tillman
14. (167) Visanthe Shiancoe
15. (170) John Kasay

I don't plan on carrying two TEs all season long. I plan to drop a TE to fill in whatever empty spot may come about due to a short bench (4 spots).
Your input is appreciated, thanks in advance.

I think you did great. I don't love Roddy White at 23, but your receiving corps is solid (I love Royal as a #3) . You didn't get a top-end QB, but a combination of Palmer and Garrard has good upside. Your trio of backs - AP, PT, K Smith - is outstanding. 7th round seems like a bit of a reach for defense, but to each his own. Upgrading your WR4 and TE would be my main concerns at this point.

Looks good. Palmer could surprise this year.

Peterson fell to 5th in my draft.
12 team, QB,RB,WR,WR,TE,K,DEF.
No PPR. Bonus points for 100 rush/rec and 300 passing.
