Offered Addai for Brandon Marshall

Postby road_rash05 » Wed Sep 09, 2009 1:09 pm

Looking at last years production this trade would cost me my best point producer at WR, but most of my other receivers are on new teams or have moved up to a top 1 or 2 receiver role so their numbers should improve this year. I could also use another RB. Maybe offer someone else back?

Thoughts?

My Team
QB - Kurt Warner
WR - Antonio Bryant, Cotchery, Coles, Roy Williams, Brandon Marshall, Donnie Avery, Visanthe Shiancoe
RB - Westbrook, Brandon Jacobs, Cedric Benson
K - Kris Brown
DEF - Pittsburgh

1 point per 10 yards run / reception - WR/RB/QB
6 points per TD run / reception - WR/RB
1 point per 25 yards pass - QB

Can play QB, WR, WR, RB, RB, WR/TE, K, DEF

i completely understand your situation since i have both westy and jacobs also...and that is for sure not going to last all season. you should get a solid RB as a backup, but i feel like you could maybe get more for marshall. can you trade someone else for a better RB? either that or low ball him with a donnie avery or something. it would be tough for me to swallow that trade given addai lack of points last year.

It Looks like Marshall is back. That could end at any time, of course, ha, but I'd ratehr have Marshall. At elast he's good when he plays, whereas Addai stinks.

Help?

I would not do that trade. Like another said, Marshall has the potential to be a top 5 WR when he's in the game. Addai just isn't living up to the fantasy hype from when he was a rookie. He's killed many fanasy teams over the past few years mainly because the Colts simply don't know how to run they ball even when they are ahead and should be running out the clock. Trust me, it was no different when Edge was their RB. It would frustrate the hell out of me watching them piss away golden RB yardage/scoring opportunities simply because Peyton CAN pick up the short yardage with passing AND run down the clock passing the ball. they do EXACTLY the opposite of what every football law says they should be doing and yet it still works for them. However it means certain death and frustration for the fantasy owners of their RB's.
