In serious QB trouble. Need help please.

Postby Reincry » Wed Sep 09, 2009 2:36 pm

Thinking it would be a good idea, I decided to wait for a while in our draft to pick up a QB (round 8 to be exact). Unfortunately, this didn't work out well for me as my pick, and starting QB is M. Cassel. This was prior to him going out by the way. :-t

I'm in a 12 team league. I have M. Sanchez and J. Delhomme as "backups" (yes, please LOL!). Should I go after someone else? Here's what's available...

J. Campbell
B. Quinn
M. Bulger
B. Leftwich
J. Russell

Any suggestions? And if so, who should I drop? My roster is below.

One more question

Thanks!

No TE? Wierd.

that's slim pickins for sure. I like Campbell a lot this year, so I would def pick him up and hope for the best.

Help?

I would go with Campbell out of that group. Stay away from Bulger.

Campbell in a heartbeat...he isn't great, but he's been ok and at least he has some upside.

Sanchez is a rookie and hard to imagine him being a viable fantasy starter.

However, carrying two defenses is really not good, so drop one. You want as many QBs on your roster as possible, to increase your chances of catching lightening in a bottle. Remember that A Rodgers, P Rivers, J Cutler, K Warner, and M Ryan were considered low end QBs for fantasy one year ago today. Look for guys that have a chance to break out.

By the way, is Flacco available? He's not a bad backup.

Good luck

Looks like Campbell is the way to go then! ;-D I was about to jump on Brady Quinn, but then that's adding more problems to my QB roster I would think.

Flacco is gone. There were a few others in the lower ring that were gone early in the draft. The ones I listed were it...for starters.

Is there any concern with Campbell going up against my Defense this week (Giants)? Seems like they would cancel each other out.

I'm looking at everyone's help link now.

Thanks!

Actually I might roll the dice on Sanchez. Most of the time, meaning more than 50%, going with a rookie QB for your fantasy team might be a bad idea, but that's not always the case. I picked up M. Ryan last year off of waivers and he worked out quite well. Now, he wasn't exacly Dan Marino in his rookie season but he put up solid numbers. Flacco was O.K. last year as a rookie too.

I was thinking Sanchez vs Houston would be my lead this week based on what I have.

Week one is always crazy. Some are saying Bulger would be the way to go this week. As I said earlier, I would gamble on Quinn if he was a clear starter.

I wound up dropping the Bucs D and went with Campbell. 8-o

Now, I guess the bigger question...should I get rid of Cassel or Delhomme and gamble on what's left from above? Say, grab Vick? :-o

Bleh, definitely Sanchez before Vick. Good move on picking up Campbell.
