trade offered to me...leaning towards decline.

Postby letsgobirds » Wed Sep 09, 2009 2:59 pm

my tom brady, thomas jones, eddie royal, and lance moore for his matt schaub, clinton portis or kevin smith, and roddy white. i think the drop off of brady to schaub is kind of why i'm reluctant to accept this. i have never taken a qb as high as i took brady, and don't ask me why i did it in this league,as i already regret it, i guess it was sort of because i figured i could move him for overvalue to a pats fan in the league....let me know what you think and leave a link.

Basically ask yourself,

Do you like:
Qb - Brady
WR - AJ, Royal
RB - Jones, Brown
Flex - Moore
or
QB - Schuab
WR - AJ, White
RB - Portis/Smith, Brown
Flex - Coles

I think agree with you. I don't think the drop off from Brady to Schaub is worth the upgrade from Royal to White and Jones to Portis/Smith
A win next week and all is forgotten.

I like the Schaub/Portis-Smith/White side personally.

I feel it's a slight gamble on Shaub staying healthy (which I think he can if you've researched his injury history). I don't like Thomas Jones or Lance Moore this year - Jones becuase I see Washington taking a bigger role (and lets face it, he's looked FAR better in preseason) and Moore because he benefitted from Colstons absence last year which is unlikely to happen again.

I think you go for a slight downgrade at QB for a significant upgrade everywhere else.

You could definitely use the RB upgrade but I think you're giving up too much.

Obviously, Brady to Schaub is a downgrade.

And Jones to Portis/Smith is an upgrade.

Royal to White is also an upgrade but I'm high on Royal this year and don't see it as a huge gain. By throwing in Moore, you're really weakening your flex position (down on Coles this year).

I think I'd hold off on the trade. The RB/WR upgrade doesn't make up for the QB/Flex downgrade. If you could replace Royal with Coles, I'd do the deal and if you can replace Moore with Coles, it would be a close call.

Who would you pick up off the WW since it's a 4-for-3?

I would lean towards decline as well. I just don't think the downgrade from Brady is worth it.

Yeah reject it and look for other ways to upgrade your RBs.

I wouldn't do it man - mostly off the value of Brady. I really feel he is due for another HUGE year, maybe not the 07, but not too far off if he stays healthy. That team only has a worse defense now, which bodes well for passing fantasy scores ;)

I think it's a very fair offer, but IMO the deal breaker is your backup QB. Flacco isn't terrible, but if/when Schaub goes down you'd like a better replacement than Flacco. Of course any QB can get hurt, but the odds of Schaub getting injured seem greater than Brady's.

I love the idea of upgrading with Smith and White, but I'm just afraid Flacco could cost you if you had to start him for 4-6 weeks.

Good luck, and please see mine:
