I'm not sure the Madden Curse is being applied correctly in all instances.

For example, the year on the Madden cover is always 1 year ahead of the football season. So Madden 2001 is actually the 2000 season in which George had his best year ever.

George doesn't fall off until 2001.
Madden 2002 is the 2001 season. Culpepper does get hurt that year.
2002 Faulk gets hurt.
2003 Vick gets hurt.
2004 nothing happens to Lewis really; the following year is when he gets hurt.
2005 McNabb gets the sports hernia and eventually shelved for the year
2006 Alexander breaks foot
2007 VY misses one game with injury, regresses as QB.
2008 Favre tears bicep tendon, falls apart at the end of the year
2009 Troy is injured first game, as for Larry????

Teams that lose the Super Bowl have had generally crappy seasons following their losses, at least for the last few years.

What about the injuries to Donnie Avery, Andre Brown, Chaz Schilens, Cornelius Ingram, Brandon Jones, William Moore, Harry Douglas, Bob Sanders, Marcus Trufant, Nnamdi Asumugha, Stewart Bradley, etc, etc, etc...

Obviously there's also a curse on players who don't appear on the Madden cover - what other possible explanation could there be??? It's not like football is a violent game or anthing! There's just no reason players should be getting hurt in such a passive, non-agressive sport.
