what the hell is the Super Bowl curse? Did u just making it up?

Teams that lose the Super Bowl have had generally crappy seasons following their losses, at least for the last few years.

Here's the past decade of Superbowl losers and their following years' record:

1998 season: Atlanta Falcons (1999: 5-11)
1999 season: Tennessee Titans (2000: 13-3)
2000 season: New York Giants (2001: 7-9)
2001 season: St. Louis Rams (2002: 7-9)
2002 season: Oakland Raiders (2003: 4-12)
2003 season: Carolina Panthers (2004: 7-9)
2004 season: Philadelphia Eagles (2005: 6-10)
2005 season: Seattle Seahawks (2006: 9-7)
2006 season: Chicago Bears (2007: 7-9)
2007 season: New England Patriots (2008: 11-5)

There were three outliers in this "trend": The 2000 Titans, the 2006 Seahawks, and the 2008 Patriots who had a successful season and missed the playoffs due to a weird tiebreaker.

So it isn't ironclad, but only two teams over the past decade have returned to the playoffs after losing the Superbowl.

Super Bowl losers are 0-9 against the spread on opening day over the last 9 years and 2-7 straight up. I thought that I'd give the Super Bowl Curse a little more steam.

Also Nate Clements held Fitzgerald to 31 and 46 yards in their two meetings last year, so I wouldn't be too surprised if Fitz has a bad week.

Boldin is the guy that kills us every year. Our secondary has been horrible at tackling on the second level when the ball gets past Willis. Goldshon looks like he might be able to change that this year, but he only plays one side of the field at a time. Clements lets up more big plays than a CB1 should in the NFL too.

I still think Boldin has a big game even at 80% against Shawntae freaking Spencer. There is a glaring hole at CB2 on this roster, Arizona won't even need to throw the ball at Fitzgerald once for Warner to have a 300 yard game here. Chances are we see a bunch of dumpoffs and a 300/2/2 type game from Warner with Boldin on top and then Urban tying Fitzgerald for second most productive.

That's IF they don't pound the rock with Wells and he rumbles to 150/3. Traditionally Warner has put up a lot of yards against us, but it's mostly on the short passing game. We can force him to make turnovers and play our type of game, but I fully expect Arizona to take this one by a field goal or more at their house. In the one week high score game type leagues, I'm taking Boldin as one of my guys unless I learn that he is out on Saturday. Big game for that guy, BIG.

Although I think it's a bit lame saying the curse worked with Favre just because he got hurt, big deal, injuries happen of some sort to nearly every single player. Can we think of a large group of players who don't get nicked up at all? He didn't miss any games and that's supposed to be what this curse is about, but people change it up to whatever fits the scenario that year.
