Rivers or Palmer?

Postby mattp987 » Fri Sep 11, 2009 8:08 am

Well well well...obviously I took Rivers ahead of Palmer but this week isn't a case for me where I play my studs considering the match up.

Rivers is @ OAK for the Monday-Nighter
Palmer is home against Denver.

Im leaning towards Palmer, he appears healthy. Rivers against the Raiders has blowout/LT running all night written all over it. My scoring breakdown is slightly different:

Each Completion= 1 point
40 YD + TD bonus = 2 points
50 YD + TD bonus = 3 points
300-399 YD passing game= 5 points
400+ YD passing game = 10 points

Everything else is "standard"

Thanks! WHIR

You'll probably get the typical "never bench your studs" comment from a few people but I would start Palmer. You would think that that game has a better chance of staying close then the Oakland game. I would think SD would get up and run LT and Sproles.

Well I agree that SD will probably put a beating on OAK and run more towards the end they still have to do something to score all those points before they go to the running game right? Its not going to be all LT so that means Rivers will have done something to get them that big lead which means a good amount of fantasy points. While I agree the Palmer has a slightly better matchup I think that Rivers qualifies as a stud, will get his chances early and should be started. JMO. Good luck! ;-D

I would start Rivers just becasue Palmer hasn't really played in a game for a while and I'd like to see how he plays first especially coming off of that injury.

Help with mine:

Has to be Rivers. Yes, the Chargers will pull all the toys out of the chest and probably build a big lead. However, Rivers is one of the toys they'll use a lot early, and with Palmer a question mark until he sees some game action....yeah, Rivers would be my pick here. Good luck!

And - how does Palmer react to not having TJ around anymore? Is Chad Whatshisnumber ready to take the pressure off? Too many questions yet. Go with Rivers.
