Start Vernon Davis over Shiancoe? WHIR

Maybe I'm just getting antsy but I'm starting to think Davis might be the play. Minnesota/Cleveland might be a slug fest with a lot of running and defense. I already have Peterson so I'll be getting points from that game regardless. I've only heard good things about Vernon and he was recently named a team captain so he's obviously back in Samurai Mike's good books. As good as the niners might play against the cardinals they're going to have to score some points to win. Not great QB play and less than spectacular WRs could lead to a big day for VD.... Right?

I don't think I'd be ready to roll with VD, even with this matchup. Favre likes throwing to his tight ends, and Shiancoe produced last year even with Jackson back there. Gore is a bigger receiving threat than ADP, so he'll get more looks and VD will get less. Shiancoe will probably get more relatively, plus at least he's been able to put up some numbers last year. So far Davis has been just hype.

I think I'd wait until VD shows consistent production before giving him the nod in your starting lineup.

I personally like Shiancoe. Brett favre loves ihis tight ends. In the preseson he seemed to have a connection with favre. Furthermore, Berrian might be out wich will give farve less options. Im still not convinced with Davis. Plus, i know they will ge giving the ball to Gore...A LOT. So i would go with Shiancoe.
