Hightower or McGahee for Rice? (WHIR)

Postby FFPiranha » Tue Sep 15, 2009 8:59 am

After a crazy week 1, it might be to early to worry about bye weeks and roster adjustments, but... should I pick up Tim Hightower or Willis McGahee and drop Ray Rice in a PPR league?

Current RB's C Johnson, K Smith & R Rice all have week 7 byes and Ward has a week 8 bye. McGahee would not help the bye situation but is he a better option than Rice or was the first game a fantasy points a fluke.

Hightower has a week 4 bye and even though he had little in the rushing department he was a PPR dream in week 1. Question is will it continue or will the ARI offense get back on track with on Fitz & Boldon producing quality numbers?

No, I wouldn't do that.

I think it is clear that R Rice is the main man in Balt, so don't consider McGahee. And it is hard to imagine that Hightower will have anywhere close to that many catches each week. And surely Beanie Wells will play a bigger role as the season goes on, since he looks like a better runner than Hightower.

Overall R Rice has much more upside than those other guys, and he is the guy you want to keep.

I would not drop Rice. If your problem isn't until week 7, I would sit tight and see how things shake out. But absolutely positively do NOT drop Rice.

Help with mine please
