My R. Grant for his Boldin? WHIR always!

Postby tracyjesq » Tue Sep 15, 2009 9:12 am

I was trying to get this guy to trade me Boldin last week and he wouldn't. Then he got whipped this week and now wants to do the trade. I am nervous about Warner being able to get Boldin the ball but I'm leaning towards pulling the trigger on this. Should I do it? WHIR!

His roster:
QB: J Cutler, M Sanchez
RB: F Jones, J Fargas, P Thomas, Calvin Johnson, TO, Boldin, Hester,K Curtis
TE: H Miller,V Davis
K: J Kasay,S Janikowski
DST: Giants,Buccaneers
0.5 PPR 14-team league. All TDs are 6.
QB - Vick, Tannehill
RB - CJ2K, TRich, Pierre Thomas, Redman, lamar miller
WR - S Smith (CAR), Demaryius, Hartline, TY Hilton, Hixon
TE - Witten, Chandler

Those two players are pretty evenly matched, but Boldin's value took a hit.

Personally I have him in 2 leagues and I'm a little worried...he has injury history, and this one kind of popped up. Plus Warner is not looking very good.

Conversely, Grant is looking good...his team is excellent, and he will be very consistent this year.

So personally I'd counter with R Brown for Boldin. Or even better, see if you can get C Johnson on the cheap, since he had a bad game. Grant for Johnson?

good luck

I agree with the poster above that you should try to counter with Brown for Boldin. I think Grant is in for a big year this year and is undervalued at this point. I would try to hold on to him.

The guy you are looking to trade with definitely has some WR value on the bench, so I would look to take advantage of that somehow, just not with Grant.

Maybe do Brown + Smith for Calvin or something like that.

QB: Palmer, Hill
RB: MJD, Grant, Ronnie Brown, J. Stewart, K. Faulk
WR: J. Morgan, S. Smith (NYG), Gage, Burleson,
TE: Keller, Scheffler
K: Brown
D: Cards, Jags
****
Your wr's are pretty bad, I'd chance it as the rb's on your roster could take the hit compared to your lack of any depth/strength at wr.

It's hard to answer this question not knowing your roster.. that would def help.
But unless you are really struggling at WR or believe in the Madden Curse then I think not to do this trade. Ryan Grant in my opinion is poised to get back to his rookie form without that lingering hamstring injury from a year ago, and if Aaron Rodgers can continue to find Greg Jennings deep that will open it up for Grant. So no do no make this trade.

What do you think about Brown + Smith (NYG) for CJ like Dukieox suggested?
0.5 PPR 14-team league. All TDs are 6.
