So I got myself in a bit of a PICKLE

Postby dtownsound8 » Tue Sep 15, 2009 4:26 pm

So I made some trades and got myself a pretty awesome team.... but it's left me in a situation where most of my team has week 4 as a bye week. I didn't even think to consider that before I made the trade, however I'm not too upset about it. I'll probably get my butt kicked that week but then I have my best players in the rest of the season while my matchups are out some of their best players.

10 team league with standard scoring, 1 QB, 2 WRs, 2 RBs, 1 WR/RB, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 DEF

Here's the problem.

QBs - Joe Flacco, Matt Schaub (I'd like to upgrade here but that's another story)
RB1 - Michael Turner (WEEK 4 BYE WEEK)
RB2 - Deangelo Williams (WEEK 4 BYE WEEK)
WR1 - Steve Smith (WEEK 4 BYE WEEK)
WR2 - Calvin Johnson
RB/WR - Anquan Boldin (WEEK 4 BYE WEEK)
TE - Antonio Gates
K - Stephen Gostkowski
DEF - Philly (WEEK 4 BYE WEEK)

BENCH - Jonathan Stewart (WEEK 4 BYE WEEK), Darren Sproles, Antonio Bryant, Brandon Marshall, and Dallas DEF

I have 5 starters on BYE and 5 bench players, one of which is on BYE also.

So... I feel I have an incredible team. My only gripe is at the QB position but I can play the matchup game between Flacco and Schaub and probably come out better than most. Well that and I don't know how I feel about having Steve Smith and Deangelo Williams on the same team. Week one held true to my fear that if Carolina has a bad week, that kills 2 of my positions. Right now it's gonna be hard to trade him off and get what I should for him with Delhomme sucking as bad as he is.

I do have the option to make some trades to avoid this predicament, but I don't want to make trades based on 1 game.

So... would you make a trade... or drop someone and pick up someone else. The only good RB worth picking up is Fred Jackson but after week 3 his value drops as Marshawn Lynch is back from his 3 game suspension. Even if I pick him up, the only player I could drop that isnt' in use that week is Jonathan Stewart and he's a great handcuff for Deangelo Williams.

What would you do?

oh... also... I've made a trade offer of Steve Smith for Greg Jennings but I doubt he's gonna take it

try to move Steve Smith for a RB since u have Marshall and Bryant on your bench, wait another week though and hope that steve smith can find the ball and the endzone then move him for some like Jacobs or Thomas Jones. and pick up Fred Jackson if u can he looks too explosive not to have an impact even when Lynch returns.

I'm thinking about dropping Bryant for Fred Jackson. That doesn't fix the situation but I don't have much faith in Bryant with Leftwich behind center
