Cutler, Burleson, and McCoy for Rivers, WHIR!!

Postby thejusman1 » Tue Sep 15, 2009 5:03 pm

I love Phillip Rivers this year, while Cutler left a sour taste in my mouth. I can withstand losing Burleson and McCoy (the other owner has Westbrook). Do I make the trade?

QB - Cutler
WR - Colston, Braylon, Desean Jackson
RB - Forte, Sjax
TE - Zach Miller
BN - Burleson, Bennett, Chris Henry, James Davis, Julius Jones, Lesean McCoy

Thoughts? There are a few receiving options I can pick up off the WW to cover the loss of Burleson, plus who knows what will happen when Branch returns. Is this worth it, or am I giving up too much? WHIR!

McCoy could end up being huge. I would try for Burleson and Cutler for Rivers. I would try to get it down to 2 of your players for Rivers be it any of the three. I think that Cutler will pull it together and have a decent fantasy appeal.

I like Rivers better than all three of the guys you mentioned. I would trade him for Cutler and one of the two others, not both. Try to bargin down, I think those three for Rivers is to much.

My thoughts exactly. while i like Rivers a lot too, i just can't see giving up this much...especially since he is the Westy owner. You should be able to do this for McCoy & Cutler.

thanks for helping with mine

Is Burleson even that good? He's my WR4, and wouldn't crack my starting lineup under normal circumstances. Bennett/Henry could really develop into something to help supplement the loss, and there's always WW gold I can scrounge up. I realize McCoy will be huge, but he's much more valuable to the Westbrook owner than he is to me, as I will can only profit from the roster spot if Westbrook goes down. I just don't want my fringe players with potential preventing me from upgrading QBs.

I would do it. Rivers is a huge upgrade from Cutler, you already have Steven Jackson and Forte which is studly (how'd u manage to land both of em?!?!), so you could afford to give up McCoy. You may want to offer like, instead of Burlseon replace him with Bennett Henry or Davis....and see if he takes that, if not go through with the deal.

I dont think you need to give up Burleson. When negociating, sell Mccoy as a huge value for the guy who has Westbook (he actually is a must-have for that guy, so use that to your advantage) That being said, I think Cutler and Mccoy are plenty. Hold Burleson for your by-week fill-in, he's fit to have a big year.

Check out this trade if you have time, its similar to yours where I'm trying to sell someone insurance for their top RB (Turner):
