Colston for V. Jackson?

Postby ramble2 » Wed Sep 16, 2009 10:27 am

I'm in an 18 team league, and am considering offering Colston for V. Jackson. I'm a little worried that Colston will get a bit lost in the shuffle in NO, despite all the points going on the board there. Jackson, on the other hand, looks to be the feature WR for SD. They both have byes in week 5, so that's no difference.

My team:

QB: Ryan
RB: K. Smith
WR: Fitzgerald
WR: Colston
TE: Carlson
W/R/T: Felix Jones
W/R/T: Laurent Robinson
Bench: Jermichael Finley, D. Hixon %-6 , P. Garcon, Clif. Smith

Scoring system (in brief): Points for receiving, rushing and return yards, and TDs. Reception yards are worth slightly more than rushing & return yards (don't ask ...).

So, should I offer Colston for V. Jackson?

Thanks!

I think Colston we'll still wind up as the wr in New Orleans with the most targets but I agree, there is alot of options in NO for Brees to throw to. Rivers is locking in on VJAX and he'll get his. Its kind of a lateral move IMO but its not a bad move either..

Thanks for helping with mine... ;-D

I would make this trade only because NO has so many targets. Chargers have a handful as well but I feel more comfortable with Jackson.

Do this trade.

Anyone else? I'd be kicking myself if Colston way out-performs Jackson, but I do like to make trades. Makes things fun, and sends a signal to other managers that I'm up for fair trades.

Absolutely not! Colston is still a top 10 WR and although I like VJax as well Colston is the primary target for Brees (who is by far the best QB in the league no matter what Brady might say)!!!

Don't let week 1 fool you as Colston caught a TD pass but only had 3 catches for 30 total yards. That is the only reason why everyone else got theirs but it won't happen like that every week. First off, it was week 1 so everyone was shaking the rust and also Colston was well defended which also won't happen every week so keep Colston as he is the better WR on a better team!

Good Luck!

Totally agree. There's much more value and return for Colston than Jackson.

I also would keep Colston. I understand your reasoning, but I think Colston's upside is higher than Jackson's.
