I shipped out Antonio Gates for Roy Williams in a 12 team ppr and we start 3 wrs
My Team: A.Rodgers/C.Palmer MJD Ray Rice Roddy White Desean Jackson Lance Moore/Luis Murphy Gates/Celek Flex-Hightower/Wells/Norwood/J.Davis/Charles
I was really surprised because I felt RW silenced his doubters after last week And the trade doesnt seem to help him at all...Hes dropping his #1 reciever and he had Heap for a TE...now he has the same prob' I had filling a WR3 I may even use Palmer to get a decent TE later
I like it. Celek is a solid tight end- McNabb is really going to get him involved in the offense. In a league where you start three WR's having three really good ones is a great benefit. Gates didn't look especially great Monday night either.
I actually disagree. I think Gates is proven himself year in and year out. Celek is a maybe and I think Roy Williams to an extent is a maybe. Romo also likes to spread the ball around. Roy Williams is good, I think he and Gates will prob end up with similar stats- maybe Roy a little better, but Gates is a TE. I don't think it is a bad move, but I just think i would have rather been on the other end of the deal
I think that Celeks value will take a hit with McNabb being out and I would personally rather have Gates for the full season. I think that you definitely help your depth at wr, but hurt yourself at te. I would have looked to move one of your rb's to get some help at wr.
I think that it is fairly even. If this was done befoire week 1's numbers were in I would be all over it; I did not expect roy williams to be as good as he 'has been' (?) (he has still underachieved in the past I think).
Now, I am not so sure, but at worst it is even, so feel happy. If you feel good with Celek then go for it.
Vick will throw to Celek all day long (outlandish, inflammatory mark, designed purely to get people's blood boiling!)
I don't like it. I'm not convinced Williams is going to suddenly be a consistent point producer, whereas Gates, if healthy, is a pretty sure thing. I think the other guy upgrading from Heap to Gates is more significant than you make it sound.
