WR Waiver pickup-need help WHIR!

Postby theckeriiii » Wed Sep 16, 2009 8:22 pm

Am looking to upgrade my WR depth. PPR league 10 teams

Potential options include:

N Burelson
S. Smith (NYG)
P Crayton
M Clayton

I am torn. All had good weeks. Think Smith and Clayton have chance to see more targets each week, but Crayton has more big play potential. Hard to read Burelson- Stl is awful, and not sure how Branch will impact his targets (if at all).

Leave link-will respond to your question. Thanks.

I'm leaning towards picking up Mark Clayton myself. I think the guy has a lot of potential, Flacco has improved, the Ravens looked more to the pass and MC really doesn't have competition.

Nate B. is also available in my league. My concern with him is Deon Branch....If branch ever is healthy --- and that's a big IF --- what happens to Burlesonn's looks????

I'm kind of asking the same question. Take a look.

I would grab Burleson.....BTW....he plays for Sea and not Stl as you had mentioned!

He has the best capabilities and most say Branch won't do anything (they almost cut him)

S.Smith is great himself and is the clear #1 on the Giants but too many WR's on that team for my blood! Crayton is in the same situation as Smith (I just don't see him doing what he did in week 1 every week) and Clayton is a good choice as Balt is throwing a ton these days but he has no real good history.

I think if Burleson remains healthy then he should fair the best out of these 4 guys!

Good Luck!

Smith : Run first offense at the moment until they figure out who they are going to pass it to.

Crayton: Big play potential but still didnt get a lot of looks.

Buerlson: Lot of looks on what is supposed to be a pass first offense but with Branch coming back soon the coaches there said that they wanted to get him more involved in the offense. Branch being older and missing half games over 2 yrs should also be taken into consideration.

Clayton: I'm looking to trade for him. He is in a contract year and the news out of camp is that he is focused and ready to live up to his potential. With Mason getting up in years and Flacco looking even more poised he could end up the #1 as the weeks go on. However this was against KC defense and Ravens still seem to be a run first offense.

If this is only as a bye week replacement/emergency situation I would probably go with Clayton.

HIR please
