Even though Brees is awesome in a point scoring system like that, trading away those two players for him is simply too much to give away.

Help with mine?

I'm obviously in the minority, so I'm just going to play devil's advocate a bit.

Why would that be giving up too much for Brees? As I pointed out, if passing TDs are worth the same as receiving TDs, it is likely that Brees' production will surpass that of the other two players combined. Even if the production were roughly equal, it is an advantage to have all of those points coming out of one slot in your lineup as opposed to two.

The only possible downside is that a Brees injury would devastate the team since he would be the key producer.

BTW, a lot of my perspective on this comes from a league I played in last year where pass TDs were valued the same as rush/rec TDs. I had Romo and Aaron Rodgers and I ran away with the league despite not having much else. In fact, only one other guy came close to scoring as many total points as me, and he had -- you guessed it -- Drew Brees. ;-D

This is bad.

1. You'd be losing a fantastic double up situation with Schaub and AJ.
2. You'd be selling low and buying high; not an ideal situation in trading. The Lions make everyone look like world beaters.

Wow, I am surprised with the responses so far. Brees is going to be unreal this year. And it's not like you still won't have a premiere WR1 even AFTER trading Johnson. Schaub is overvalued and Johnson doesn't score many TDs. They're both valuable, but Brees will be the team carrier this year. Plus, Austin is a nice little throw in. I take this deal and watch the points roll in every week as Brees brings down the house.
