I am in a 10 team, non-keeper league. 6 pts per rush/rec TD. 1 pt per 10 yards.
Active spots for each week are.
QB RB RB RB/WR WR WR TE K DEF
I have Larry Fitzgerald, Calvin Johnson, and Steve Smith as my top 3 WRs. Kevin Walter and Donnie Avery are the backups.
At RB I have Marshawn Lynch, Ahmad Bradshaw, and Chris Wells as my top 3 backs. Fred Jackson, Sammy Morris, and Le'Ron McClain are my backups.
CHANGE: A guy in my league is offering me Kevin Smith and Berrian in return for Fitz. I realize I need help at RB, but would you guys make the trade? We were talking Westbrook instead of Kevin Smith, but he had changed the offer when I went back to check it.
I think I can get another guy in my league to give me Marion Barber in return for Steve Smith plus one of my backups (probably Wells now that Delhomme blew up and likely hurt Smith's value). Would that be a better option?

I would do it. With warner looking 60 i see fitz losing some production. Westy is always solid fantasy rb and berrian can be good if the ever let favre throw the ball.

None taken. My RB situation is a by-product of my draft slot. The way it worked out, I grabbed the best players I could knowing I would have to make a trade in the early going.
So, do you guys think the deal for Westbrook is better than the deal for Barber?
Can you get ANYTHING besides Westbrook? Don't get me wrong, I own him, but I'm always scared to start him. This is the second year in a row where I'm afraid he's just going to fall apart at any second. So many injuries (shaking my head)...such a shame.

I know what you mean. I am also a bit leary of the trade because I don't necessarily buy the "you have bad RBs so you have to make a trade" line of thinking. Points are points. The flex spot really alleviates a lot of the concerns I might have about production from a particular position. In other words, it's almost a straight production for production trade for me. There is a slight value that comes from having production at a certain spot, but ultimately I want the combination that gives me the most points.
BTW, the guy is now trying to get me to take Kevin Smith and Berrian for Fitz.
