Drop Antonio Bryant Yet?

Antonio Bryant-WR- Buccaneers Sep. 17 - 2:44 pm et

Bucs coach Raheem Morris hinted that Antonio Bryant would miss Sunday's game after being held out of practice Thursday with pain and inflammation in his surgically repaired knee.

"You want Antonio to play, of course, so it's obviously a disappointment," said Morris. "We've got guys on this team that have got to play, that have got to go in there." It's a little early to cut bait on Bryant for the rest of the season, but fantasy owners should start to consider other options if the knee is still an issue next week.

Thinking of picking up Earl Bennett, Justin Gage or Burleson

I like all 3 of those guy's QB's more and none of them are injured. Who knows is Bryant will even connect with Leftwich when he is healthy. I like Bennett

I would pick up Burleson. He was a stud in that first game and looked great with Hasselbeck

I'm a bit stunned by the question and replies. You must have drafted Antonio fairly high, yet you're ready to dump him for WW fodder because he'll miss week 2?

I don't get it.

I got Bryant in the 10th round (pick 96th) of a 15 round draft.

People were scared off by his injury not to mention the new QB in Tampa Bay. Also he's hasn't really been the model of consistency in the past.

Wow - in all of my leagues he went no lower than rd 7.

Well - in that case - I'd pick up Gage - it's not likely that Bryant would be scooped up very quickly since your entire league shares disdain for him...

lol I don't think it's distain as much as people were worried about his injury and situation.

His ADP is the beginning of the 8th.

Bucs expect to be without WR Bryant on Sunday

The Bucs now expect Antonio Bryant (knee) to miss Sunday's game unless he shows dramatic improvement before then.

According to the St. Petersburg Times, the Bucs are privately "deeply concerned" about the injury despite public comments to the contrary. It's believed that he may have forced the issue before he was fully recovered from early August arthroscopic surgery to repair a torn meniscus. Don't count on using him in fantasy leagues any time soon. Sep. 18 - 11:54 am et

Thanks for your help...

I'd drop him, too. I prefer Burleson out of that list, but Bennett and Gage are still better options IMO. Bennett got LOTS of looks in Week 1 but I think that will drop as Cutler starts spreading it more to Olsen and Forte. Gage seems to be the #1 guy in Tennessee, but I just like Seattle's offense more. I think they will need to pass more than the Titans, and Burleson will be the #1 guy (TJ is going to be a solid WR, but just possession).

Good luck!

i would not drop him. i know he's hurt, but not that bad. burleson has always been talked about as some savior, but he's never lived up to the hype. bryant is the real deal but is a head case. you just have to deal with him to suck out that upside.
10 rushing yards - 1 pt
10 receiving yards - 1 pt
20 passing yards - 1 pt
All TDs - 6 pts (QBs favored)
