Well, I drafted the Carolina Panthers at the very end of my draft this year and, after a single week, it is pretty obvious that they are not going to be a consistent performer on the defensive side of the ball. I will chalk that up to me not spending enough time focusing on defensive changes in the league and how they would stack up this year. Anyway, Carolina is facing Atlanta this week and there is no way that I'm going to let them start this week against Turner, Ryan, Roddy White and Co. So, I need to drop them for a defense with a good matchup.
Here is who is available:
Atlanta defense (facing Carolina)
Indianapolis defense (facing Miami)
Oakland defense (facing Kansas City)
Denver defense (facing Cleveland)
Those are the ones that I think have favorable matchups. I'm leaning towards Oakland, as they looked pretty tough against San Diego on Monday night and Kansas City's offensive line looks every bit as bad as they were last year. KC gets Cassell back this week but that might not matter much when you consider the only decent option he has is Bowe and, with that O-Line, that might not even matter.
I'm also a little tempted by the Atlanta defense. Carolina's offense looked bad last week, though, obviously, they could get that running game going at pretty much any time. Delhomme appears to be rapidly imploding, which could help from a turnover perspective (obviously, Yahoo awards points for the defense causing a turnover).
So, which situation do you think is the most favorable for this week? Feel free to eloborate.
