14 team $ league .. What would you do? WHIR

Postby bearsfanatic » Fri Sep 18, 2009 8:15 pm

We start 1 QB ... 2 RB .. 3 WRs .. 1 TE ... 1 Def ... 1 kicker

This is my first time outside a 10 team league and I could really use some advice. Not liking my QB situation at this point, but it's early yet. How would you guys improve on this team, and if you agree on my QB weakness, what would you propose to improve it.

Non PPR league with standard scoring.

QBs: Matt Schaub / Brady Quinn (got Schaub in 6th and felt good at the time since all the top tiers were long gone)
RBs: Frank Gore / Donald Brown / Darren Sproles / Mewelde Moore / Glen Coffee / Marshawn Lynch (yeah, I'm anxious for week 4, lol)
WRs: Randy Moss / Michael Clayton / Pierre Garcon / Antonio Bryant / Donnie Avery / James Jones
TEs: Jason Witten
Kickers: David Akers
Def: Bears (had faith until Brian went down, now a tad worried, but squat on WW)

I got lucky and tied in week 1, but would love to get a win before Lynch comes back. Will feel alot more comfortable once hes locked in.
Any help is greatly appreciated .. WHIR and thx

Okay, I think QB is the least of your worries. Schaub should be fine on an explosive offense. Don't over-react after 1 week. I would be more worried about your RB and WR's. Gore is fine, but you didn't draft a #2 RB. They are all back-ups or RBBC's. Your lucky LT has gone down so you have a viable starter this week. I'm not sure you should be banking on Lynch being your #2RB. After F Jacksons impressive performance, I think your looking at a 50:50 split. I do think that Lynch will get the goal line touches though. Same deal with your WR's. Moss is outstanding, but the rest are vey weak (all #3 WR's at best). Frankly, I think your going to have to be very lucky, or a great in-season manager to be competative this year. You don't really have the assets to make any trades, either. I would be patient, and see how it plays out. Maybe when one of your lesser players puts together a few good games you can sell high and pick off some better players from a disappointed owner. Good luck......
