Moving Brady to upgrade WR. WHIR 100%

Postby Sex Panther » Mon Sep 21, 2009 2:45 pm

Ok, so here's the situation...

I have Brady and I have Schaub.

I am more than comfortable with Schaub as my QB (especially after Sunday's performance).

I am not comfortable with my WR situation - I have Ochcinco and a bunch of "guys" - each of which could put up numbers every week, but I don't want to deal witht the hassel of figuring that out.

I can move Brady and 1 of those "guys" for Cutler and 1 of the following - Roddy White or Steve Smith (CAR).

I'm smarting after 2 weeks (down by 18.85 going into tonight - I have Addai and Brown going, so I should win).

This is a 12 team, relatively big money ($250 buy in, can win upto $2300), redraft league.

Fractional scoring -

20 yards passing = 1 pt.
TD pass = 4 pt.
INT = -1 pt
300 yards passing = 1 pt
350 yards passing = 2 pt
400 yards passing = 3 pt (bonuses stack to max +6)

10 yards rec/rushing = 1 pt.
TD run/catch = 6 pt
100 yards rec/rushing = 1 pt
150 yards rec/rushing = 2 pt
200 yards rec/rushing = 3 pt (bonuses stack max +6)

QB/WR/WR/RB/RB/TE/Flex/K/D

My roster...

QB Brady, Schaub
WR Ochocinco, Cotchery, Burelson, Moore, Smith (NYG), Gonzalez
RB LT, Brown, Addai, Bell, M. Bush
TE Daniels
K Gostkowski
D Minnesota

Obviously I don't want to sell Brady, I'd prefer moving Schaub, but Brady is going to net me more in return IMO.

So, today I poster QB for sale, and the Cutler owner responded w/ what WR do you want for Brady...

His roster...

QB Cutler, Favre
WR Smith (CAR), White, Bowe, Muhammad, Washington
RB Turner, Lewis, White, McCoy, James
TE Olsen, Watson
K Gould
D New England

If I move Brady - Cutler is a must have - I think Schaub will put up big numbers, but I need a backup due to his injury history, what WR out of Smith or White would you want going forward? Should I try and get Cutler, Smith/White, + a guy (McCoy would be nice).

I understand I'm selling Brady after a bad outing, but I really want to address my WR1 spot.

I think I'll be fine every where else...

Much more comfortable running out...

QB Schuab (or Cutler)
WR Smith or White
WR 85
RB LT (get healthy please)
RB Brown
TE Daniels
Flex Addai

Than I am with...

QB Brady
WR 85
WR some random guy
RB LT
RB Brown
TE Daniels
Flex Addai

What do I try and package to upgrade my roster?

Also, this guy has Turner on the block as well - after a decent week 2, not sure if he's still available. Do I try and package a hurt LT as well?

WHIR...
Kate Upton's Husband - dead
Mr. Blonde - champ
Yo Soy Fiesta - dead
Old South - champ
Full of Fanta Tonight - champ
Sex Panther (SB) - dead
Sex Panther (FF) - dead
Sex Panther (IBL) - dead
Sex Panther (Dynasty) dead

I'd do it, as long as you have Culter in return as a backup I think you will be fine.

Looking at it I would send out Brady/Moore (try to sell Moore if you can, if not I would do it with either Smith or Burleson also) for Cutler/Smith. Smith IMO should have the bigger season as I think he takes out Roddy in both Yardage and TDs. Those bonuses for yardage favor both, but I see SS being more consistent thus getting more bonus points week to week.

I really think this is actually a pretty damn good trade for you, Cutler will get it together and will actually turn out to be a pretty sweet piece alongside Smith in this deal. Do it and love up the Smith/Ocho combo rather then Ocho/Cotchery.

A big thanks to deluxe_247 for the sweet sig!

I am on the other end of this one...I am trying to get brady and the guy wants my Steve Smith and Addai for Brady not sure what to do...

If you can get Cutler and S Smith...I think that is a fair trade...but Shaub has to really keep on going to make this worth your while...

Help with mine??

Thanks for your help on mine.

First off, let me say that I don't like selling somewhat low on Brady. Instead I would move Schaub for a low #1 or high #2 WR.

But if you are looking to move Brady, I think you can get a little bit more than just Smith. If he will pull the trigger on an LT/Turner swap, go for it, but that's not likely. He's pretty shaky with RB depth, so I don't think he can help you there, but you may be able to snag another good WR out of this.

I would propose something along the lines of Brady/Cotch/Moore for Cutler/Smith/Bowe.

I would try to move Brady 1 for 1 for a elite WR.

Look for someone whos weak at QB and send them an offer.
