Y! Divisional Tie Break Question

Postby bigh0rt » Tue Sep 22, 2009 9:28 am

Okay, so my league has two divisions. I presumed that after Overall Record, the next tie-breaker would be Divisional Record, right? Well, currently I am ranked 6th in my league, at 1 - 1 - 0, with a 0 - 1 - 0 Div. Rec, and the team that beat me in Week 1 (my divisional opponent) is also 1 - 1 - 0, but with a 1 - 0 - 0 Div. Rec, and he's in 7th behind me. So not only does he have a better record in the division than I do, but he also beat me head-to-head. There is absolutely no reason I should be ahead of this team... Can anyone shed some light on this?? :-?

Its Yahoo ;-7

My guess is that you have more total points than him. So, it goes:
Record
Total points
etc.

Most sites default to total points as the first tie breaker. IMO, Total points is the best indication of performance over the season and should be the first tie breaker. Has your league stated what the tie breaker is or did you all go with the default settings?

I'm guessing it is Overall points, followed by divisional record then head to head.
A win next week and all is forgotten.

I went to our help pages and searched for tiebreaker. Voila.

Winning percentage, total points, week 17 points, week 16 points, week 15 points, etc. etc.

I have no idea why I was under the impression that Divisional Record was the tie-breaker after Win Pct. I want to say that you told me Genie, but that can't be true. :-b

I knew the counting back weeks as the tie-breaker, from a baseball points week, but for some reason I thought it was different here...

Tell your bosses, Genie, that it should be an option. ;-)
