Hey guys, hows it going? So, with TV season fast approaching once again, school currently going on, and the stupid switch to DTV completed, I have a major problem. Since the DTV switch, I have not been able to get the DTV box to feed through my VCR so I can record shows. This is gonna be a problem because I never watch stuff live, and without the VCR to record stuff, I won't see anything. My question is this, using my current setup (buying stuff is not an option, neither myself nor my parents can afford peripherals of any kind) how can I get the DTV feed through the VCR?
Here is info on my setup. 17in panasonic tube tv, a Sony DVD/VHS player combo, a digital stream converter box, and a radio shack antenna. (pretty weak, I know, but I live with it) The Antenna is jacked into the converter box, which attaches to the TV through the the lone coaxial cable. The Sony is attached to the TV through one of a few A/V red/yellow/white double sided cables. The DVD/VCR player has 2 available A/V tricable spots open, and the DTV box has one, and it is marked video, not sure if that means it defers in some way. I am pretty sure it is possible for the proper fix to be made, but I am gonna need someone with tech savvy to give me a hand. Thanks for the help guys!

if not maybe you can google your converter box model for instructions...it should include VCR setup
Ok.... So, I call complete BS, epic fail, shennanigans, and every other method of questioning my smartness. Why didn't I think of that. It worked. Wow. I am an idiot. Thanks for the quick help Dan!

You will only be able to record the channel you are watching. If you are going to be gone make sure to have it on the right channel. If you want to record 2 different shows on different channels; you are screwed.

Yeah I know. Luckily every show I watch airs on the same channel on different days, in different time slots. So that works out.

Well, you could pay an extra dollar or 2 to your cable company to get a DVR box that will reocrd your shows.
If you don't have cable or satilite not sure how to help you other than most of the popular shows are streamed on the net a day or 2 after they are shown on the TV.
You could think of government workers like teenagers. You pay them an allowance, but do you get any work out them? They eat the food, put their feet on the furniture and complain loudly whenever they are unhappy.
