Trade: Brandon Marshall for TJ Housh WHIR!

Postby Chicago 2 » Tue Sep 22, 2009 3:05 pm

I have been offered the following trade:

League Settings:
Standard Yahoo League, 12 teams, normal positions, PPR = .5 Pt

Get:
Brandon Marshall

Give:
TJ Housh

Here are my WRs:

Roddy White
Roy Williams
TJ Housh

Davone Bess

Housh might be w/o Hassel for time being and he really has not been productive. Also lingering back problems. You think it would be worth gamble to hope Orton finds Marshall and hope Marshall gets more PT?

This is a tough one but I think I would stick with TJ Housh for now. I think there is less risk with Housh over Marshall and just as much up side down the road...

Basically your deal comes down to potential on both sides. Does Marshall's potential rate higher w/ Orton or TJ's w/ Hass if/when he's healthy? With your other two guys as safety I'd say yes it does. Then there's the Julius Jones factor. He hasn't shown he can hold up for a full season really and if/when he goes down and Edge is running, TJ will be doubled up. Whereas Denver turns out RB's like a shark grows new rows of teeth. If you start Williams over TJ anyway I think I would risk it.

Start 3 receivers.

So, Roy and White are pretty much a lock for me to start each week. Seneca Wallace is definitely one of the more capable backups in the league but if and when Marshall gets more playing time is the question here.

One of those decisions where I'm 0-2 and if it can get me a win I need to decide quickly. You make some solid points.

RIght on. Here's a twist to think about. I'm betting your league has Seneca Wallace as a WR. He's going to start at QB this weekend. If yours is a leage that doubles up on OOPS then it's grits and gravy.

Amend that: I just checked and mine have switched him to QB. He started the year as a WR. Nevermind.

Nope, unfortunately he is not listed as a WR.

Only guy I'm aware of who is listed as a WR and QB is Edelman of the Pats, whom if Welker doesn't play I might highly consider.

Antonio Bryant also hit waivers and I feel it is worth a shot adding him even though he probably won't be ready for a week or two.

Yes, you should get Edelman anyway, if Welker is out again. But you won't see any bonus from him being part QB as he won't be taking snaps over Brady. Maybe an odd throwback pass or something but that's not really the Hoodie's style. Yes, take Bryant now and let him sit.

Thanks again.

Never started 0-2, maybe took a little too many risks on draft day but it happens.

Still feel good about my team but starting 0-3 would be real tough to dig out of.
