Pretty generous offer for Drew Brees

Postby Diavolo » Tue Sep 22, 2009 5:23 pm

So I'm 2-0 so far mostly thanks to Brees and Adrian Peterson but someone has made me an offer that's pretty hard to ignore:

Brees and Favre for Romo, Schaub and Forte.

Would you guys stick with Brees or trade him for a lot more depth? My other RBs are Kevin Smith, McFadden and Moreno.

Thanks

No.

You will continue to win with Brees and AP. That's too many pts a week right there to give up. Don't mess with a VERY VERY good thing.

I guess what makes it hard to pull the trigger on this deal is that when Schaub or Romo have a bad game, they're REALLY bad... but with Brees you can expect consistency and even his worst games will still get you a decent amount of points. Especially this year, the Saints are lookin' really good.

What it comes down to is this: can I play the match-ups with Romo and Schaub (who are both fantasy starters), plus get the upgrade at RB with Forte and score more points than with Brees and my current RBs? I mean Forte has to still be worth something right?

I guess before the season starts this would've been a no-brainer but with Forte's disappointing start it's certainly a risk.

why would you need 2 QB's when you have Brees???

Keep that team together if your 2-0!!

Little help with mine..

I somehow wouldn't take that trade even though it honestly is more than enough to land Brees. K Smith will be just fine as a 2nd rb for you.

Well I have to replace Brees and Favre for the bye week at least...

I think I'm leaning towards not doing the deal even though it would be nice to have Forte.

Is it a 2 QB league? If so, then yes probably you should. If not then its a closer call. Brees is great and definitely the best QB in fantasy football but he'll be human at times this year.

I have to come back and reiterate this for you, since some people don't realize the situation you're in.

YOU HAVE AP AND BREES.

Sure, if you just had Brees and someone other than AP at the RB spot, I could see this trade POTENTIALLY making sense.

But you may be the only human being on the planet that has both of these guys. There's a reason you're 2-0.
