Trade Idea: Would You Offer This???

Postby AJPennSt » Tue Sep 22, 2009 6:44 pm

I am offering Marshawn Lynch, Antonio Gates, and Tim Hightower in exchange for Steve Slaton, Felix Jones, and Jonathan Stewart. I currently have Deangelo Williams AND Marion Barber so these would be huge handcuffs. This is especially iminent due to Barber's injury. The owner has Olsen starting at TE and I have Brent Celek backing up Gates. My bench is pretty weak and this would give me depth and prevent an injury from ruining my season. I also expect Slaton to get better obviously. I view Celek as a top 10 tight end and very reliable for 7-10 ppg. I want to sell high on Hightower and buy low on Slaton. Would you offer this?

Good idea with the handcuffs...
I would also buy low on slaton. If you have celek you can afford to give up gates and marshawn.
Felix is loooking solid and slaton will come around!!
Do it thoooo!!

little help on mine...

I'd definitely do this. I'm not high on Slaton having huge numbers this year, but I would definitely expect him to rebound. Also, Hightower won't perform well this year.

Without knowing anything about your league settings and the other team's league I like this trade for you. Sell high on Hightower, buy low on Slaton. Fred Jackson has made a strong case to increase his role when Lynch comes back and TE's are so deep this year. Love Celek. Decent trade.

I'm the odd man out, not a fan of this. I think Gates is a stud and Hightower might be a lot better then people think. After 2 fumbles by Wells, I think he secured the role. Not a fan of Stewart at all, like Jones, but think it's just too much you are giving up.

Yeah I'd do it. Slaton is a great buy low candidate and Hightower isn't going to be worth much soon I think. TE depth is ridiculous this year so losing Gates is acceptable as well.
