One Superstar or 2 studs?

Postby uncabomb » Wed Sep 23, 2009 9:24 am

Alright, 0-2 in my league. I'm not freaking out but def. need a better balanced team. Team right now:

We start qb, wr, wr,wr, rb, rb, te, flex

Brees
S. Smith, Roy W., B. Marshall
Jacobs, Addai, C. Williams, L. Johnson, K. Moreno, J. Davis
heap, z. miller

I don't need to know if he would do this deal but if it would benefit my team. I know I need to make my team better all around.

Would a trade like Brees/Addai or C. Williams for Forte/Peyton make my team better and a somewhat balanced trade. Trying to capitalize on Brees fortunes and Forte's slow start

I like sending Brees and Addai for Manning and Forte. You need an upgrade at RB and if you can accomplish that by downgrading slightly at Qb, you need to pull the trigger.

I would be more than willing to downgrade to someone like Manning, Rivers, Rodgers, Brady or Romo if you can also get a top flight RB in return.

I like that deal for you... Brees is the best qb in fantasy football but Peyton is a stud in his own right and will put up consistent numbers for you at qb I wasn't in love with Forte coming into the season but he's still an upgrade over Addai/Caddy who are both splitting carries. This trade would give you two soild rb's and a flex something your lacking now and you'd still have a great qb.

I agree with that trade...you pretty much pegged the reasoning with your own assesment of the trade. Sell high on brees and get forte low. He has a very easy schedule coming up. You should however take a look at his playoff schedule. I understand you have to get their first but it's a tough schedule weeks 14-17. GB, Baltimore, minnesota, and detroit. I would make the trade, but that's just somethin else to think about. thanks for the help with mine.

His other rb is Ryan Grant who I think will have a great year. If he doesn't bite no Forte, what do you think about Peyton/Grant?

THanks for the insight.

I like both of those trade for you -

Brees is off to an amazing start, but I'd take advantage of that if you can.

Mannning is a STUD in his own right.

Moving Addai or Cadillac for either Forte or Grant makes perfect sense to me - Forte and Grant don't share carries.

I would prefer Forte in that deal personally, but IMO either would work.

However, I think Grant is an upograde ove either ADdai or Cadillac.

I almost like the Payton/Grant idea better.
I think Forte is going to have a tough year with the Bears playing from behind more often than not. The Bears have not been calling the short passing/screen type plays that made Forte a hero last year. Cutler is a much more down the field passer, (which should help Forte to some extent with defensive positioning and such) but he uses his checkdown less than Kyle "noodle arm" Orton.

Just a thought. Either trade is an overall upgrade for your team though.
