WHIR: Flex position help needed badly.

Postby Bulard280 » Sat Sep 26, 2009 12:08 am

Hey guys so currently I am starting

QB: Schaub
WR: TO, Mario Manningham, Ted Ginn Jr.
RB: Westbrook and Jonathan Stewart (Would be LT)
TE: Celek
Flex: ??????

Here is where I have my choices I have....
Brandon Marshall vs raiders- Don't really want to start him because of match-up
Ben Watson vs ATL- Do I really dare start a TE at flex?
Donnie Avery vs GB- Has looked horrible but Packers will put up points and force Rams to pass the ball
Chansi Stuckey vs Titans- Titans defense hasn't been able to stop the pass but they have to show up eventually.
Earnest Graham vs NYG- Would rather not deal with a RB competing with 2 others
Jerome Harrison vs Balt- With the Jamal Lewis injury this would be my choice but he is facing the Ravens, although if they fall behind Harrison seems like the better back in the passing game.

Please help me with which player I should start at my Flex position and leave a link and I will help you as well. Thank you for the advice.

I'd scratch Harrison, Avery, and Graham immediately... none is worth any kind of start right now based on their play and upside.

With regard to the rest:

- I agree, hate Marshall's match-up and the whole head game/Orton thing
- Stucky... an interesting bet, nice upside, I just have a problem starting anyone in the Jets passing game. I'm a NYer, and Giant fan aside I just don't think they're that good.

So I'd start Watson, who with Welker likely playing partially on his first week back will be inline for a lot of upside. The fact that Atlanta should be bringing everything they have on Moss and dont have a lot to start with and NE has no run game... good for the TE in the short game over the middle.

The Titans are going to be focusing on Keller / Cotchery for the passing game and most likely Stucky will be single coverage for the most part of this game. Their pass defense has been weak as of recent and I'd be trusting him the most out of this group. Avery had a fluke year last year and they're going up against the best 1 2 punch in the NFL. (harris / woodson) I still wouldn't trust Harrison yet, seeing how Lewis is questionable, they'll be down early in the game, and the Ravens have one of the best rush defenses in the NFL. Don't start Marshall because he has the best cb in the game on him, Nmandi Asomugha. I've heard Cadallic Williams might not be playing this week but I'd look into that. For if he isn't hes got a decent potential. If its only Ward + Graham, I think Graham is a sleeper for this week and will probably get a rushing TD while Stucky is a bit more of a leap. If Cadillac is playing, disregard Graham and go with Chansi.

No doubt...I would go with Stuckey this time around. ANyone playing against the Titans deserves to start, until the Titans prove they can stop the pass.
Thanks for helping on mine.

I would go with Stuckey also.. Tennessee = not good vs. throw.. He will get open..

Marshall would be the no-brainer pick, but he has been a huge disappointment this far, sit him until he starts to show some stats.

help?
