Dynasty trade:

Postby TruNinerFan » Mon Sep 28, 2009 5:56 pm

I give: Turner and Boldin
I get: Jacobs and Calvin Johnson

This is a dynasty league. We get 1 PPR, 6 pt all TD and 1 pt every 10 yards rush/rec

What do you think?

Im probably in the minority, but I love Calvin so I would do it. In a ppr I think Turner loses some value, so to me Jacobs and Turner are pretty close.

no shot..lol

im actually suprised you would ask for advice on this one.

Turner and Boldin are way more valuable for you then Jacobs and Calvin.

Also..this about how Calvin is really the only person to worry about on the lions..Defense wont give him the time or day.

Then Jacobs. He is big..but he could go down anyday. Did you see how Bradshaw performs. I think Bradshaw and Jacobs will merge into a True 50 50 time share for carries.

not good. Turner and Boldin are great.

I am asking because I am very intrugued by this offer.

I think that Jacobs are Turner are closer in value than people think in a PPR. They both will not catch many balls and both get goal line carries. Plus, they are the same age so that is a wash. I think the Falcons are going to throw more and more as Ryan gets more experience. So, I do see Turner's carries to drop. Plus, with Gonzo in the mix his red zone chances will also decrease. The downside with Jacobs is that A. bradshaw steals a lot of carries.

The big upside to this trade is getting Calvin. I love Boldin, but let's face it he does have injury concerns. He seems to have a hamstring or some other kind of injury every year that forces him to miss 3 or 4 games. Plus, Boldin is 29 and Calvin is 24. Boldin plays so hard and takes a lot of big hits, I don't know how much his body can take. I think Calvin is the best WR in the game and he is only going to get better. I love the fact that I am gaining youth and I can have the best WR in the NFL for the next decade.

I would love to hear some of your thoughts.

No way. Boldin and Turner are clearly the better option exp in a PPR league. Boldin will rape Calvin. I do agree that Jacobs and Turner will be about the same though.

Boldin will rape Calvin?? I am going to play devil's advocate. What happens to Boldin when Warner retires? How long can he play as hard as he plays? What about the constant injuries year in and year out. I think that Calvin has fewer question marks, plus he is 5 years younger. He put up great numbers on an 0-16 team with terrible QB play. Teams knew the ball was going to him and still couldn't stop him. How great will he be when Stafford gets better?

what will happen when warner retires is Leinart.

Leinart wont hurt his value.

The downside with Jacobs is that A. bradshaw steals a lot of carries.

exactly what turns me off about the trade.

I think that Calvin is head and shoulders above Boldin, hands down. Name another wr that could put up 1200 yards and 12 tds, while playing with 4 different qb's, none of which are starting anywhere this year. So that is a big win right there, just plug him into your lineup for the next 8+ years. Now the big question is Turner and Jacobs. Turner had a great year last year and he put up huge numbers, but they seem to be passing more this year and he has struggled somewhat. Jacobs is a big physical rb who has always been hurt, but when healthy he produces and is the goal line rb. If I do this I'm also trying to get Bradshaw to handcuff to him. If it were me I'm making this deal and riding with Megatron for the next 8 years.

Pretty much exactly my thoughts and why I said I would take the trade too.

I'd stand pat with Boldin and Turner myself.
