Fitz/Rice for CJ(RB)/mario WHIR

Postby Montana168 » Tue Sep 29, 2009 8:35 pm

it is a yahoo H2H Keeper league, we keep 8 every yr (so 1 qb, 3 wr, 3 rb is what i like to keep). standard scoring 6 pts rush td 6 pts receiving td. Heres the deal

I GET:
WR Fitz
RB Ray Rice
I GIVE:
RB Chris Johnson
WR Mario Manningham

heres my roster, Record: 5th (1-2) but most points scored in the league.
QB Big Ben
WR Marques Colston
WR Mario Manningham
WR Mike Sims-Walker
RB Frank Gore
RB Chris Johnson
TE Owen Daniels
WR/RB Steven Jackson
BN Ahmad Bradshaw
BN Jon Stewart
BN Eddie Royal
BN Lee Evans
BN Joe Flacco
BN Josh Morgan
K Nate Kaeding
DEF SD
BN SF

not sure on this deal. it is pretty even but i'm basically upgrading my WR and downgrading my RB. this move, however, is basically for the future becuase it will hurt me short term. this week Fitz is on a bye and gore is out for the next 2 games, then a bye week. so this week i am playing a very tough opponent and it would give me a loss unless someone explodes bcuz i'd have to go with jax (vs. SF), rice, and bradshaw as my 3 rb. and i'd have to start evans or royal. i know my WR are weak besides colston but i have 2 very solid sleepers in sims-walker and mario, but royal and evans dissappointing is what hurt the most.

however, i like the idea of having 2 stud WR (fitz/colston) and 2 stud RB (gore/jax) then i can rotate royal, sims-walker, evans at WR3 and rice, bradshaw, jstew at FLEX. however, that is risky given that gore is already hurt, jax is injury-prone, colston hurt last yr and fitz has to live with the madden curse and u have to believe he'll go down at some point bcuz of it.

extremely torn on this deal, it balances out my team a bit but i like having 3 top 10 rb every week, and i have a lot of solid sleeper WR that i could wait on

as always leave a link and i'll help u out as well.

I'd rather trade Jax then Johnson...can you work a deal that way?

not at all...that entire league is extremely down on s jax bcuz of his less than stellar past 2 yrs and the fact that he is the only playmaker on a league-worst rams team. bcuz of that fact i bought extremely low on him a week ago so i was very happy to get him, but he has no value to anyone else really until he starts putting up numbers. this is the only trade on the table right now, wanted to give him evans or royal instead but this is the only thing that works...so i take it u dont like it with CJ then?

No, I don't. CJ is the real deal man, especially in a keeper league. Fitz is a stud, but WR's are too dependant on QB's, flow of the game, offensive line, etc... and I don't like what I've seen from Arizona so far. I also like Super Mario for the future. I'd stand pat if that's the only deal you can get. Johnson won't let you down man.

thanks for help with mine. this is a tough call. of course getting fitz will certainly upgrade your wr corps. Ray rice has been pretty good this yr but hes losing all tds to willis. Gore being out a few games certainly hurts your depth but i think you will be ok. I like chris johnson but i think u can live without by getting fitz. If you like it then id do it i think its a pretty fair deal.

I'd keep CJ and Manningham. The upgrade at WR is not as strong as the downgrade at RB you're giving up. Plus, Fitz is very dependent on Warner's health, while Manningham is emerging. I wouldn't do it...

Thanks for the help on mine.

I can't see trading away Chris Johnson in a keeper league, as appealing as that offer is long-term. I'd rather target Fitzgerald separately and keep Johnson and Rice out of the equation. You say he won't go for Jackson, but I'd talk him up a little if at all possible, maybe throw in a player to get him to budge on a Jackson-Fitzgerald deal. Keep in mind Warner's age when counting on Fitz long-term...

thx for the help with Jennings.

I would not make the trade CJ has more value than Fitz. Rice is going to be a RBBC for awhile.

I wouldn't trade CJ. And I don;t think you want to join the ranks of Ray rice owners swearing at stattracker as you read "willis mcgahee - TD!"
