BRANDON JACOBS for...

Postby dare » Wed Sep 30, 2009 2:09 pm

Okay, Ahmad Bradshaw is apparently a lil banged up, but now they have another guy in Gatrell Johnson who looks like another freak.
The point: I don't trust the Giants RB situation for the whole year(3-headed monster and the like).
And something has always bugged me about the way BJ runs(He doesn't seem to use his strength and size)
So, if I have the opportunity to do so straight up or adding on a WR3 like Johnny Knox or Donnie Avery,
Would you do any and all of these, or is there one of these you prefer more(PPR LEague, btw)

1) BJ + filler for Chris Johnson
2) BJ + filler for Steven Jackson
3) BJ + filler for Deangelo Williams

Unlike you, I have confidence in BJ's beastly downhill running style. The only deal that I would do if you can pull it off is to get Chris Johnson. He is a man among boys.

I'll second this. Jacobs will be the lead back, and I get a feeling he'll get most of the goal line touches.

Chris Johnson is pretty awesome, and will put up good numbers this year, so if you can get him I'd do it.

If you think you can get Chris Johnson for BJ+WR3, that would be by FAR the best deal of the three you proposed, and a win for you. If you want Steven Jackson, I wouldn't even ask for a filler, and BJ+WR3 for Deangelo almost tilts in favor of the other guy.

One thing you should consider with all of these backs is team record. You're talking about getting rid of the stud back for a 3-0 team, to pick up a guy from an 0-3 team, in all three cases. I prefer RB's from winning teams because they are much more likely to A. be in position for goalline TD's, and B. pick up junk, run-out-the-clock yards. So unless you can get Chris Johnson, I wouldn't try to deal BJ.
