Donnie Avery or Earl Bennett?

Postby DrEricFautstein » Wed Sep 30, 2009 3:10 pm

Donnie Avery is currently on the waiver wire in my league...i am thinking of dropping Earl Bennett for him...only problem is, i was going to play Bennett this week (week 4) because he is playing DET at home in chicago....i do also have K.Walter vs.Oak at home in texas as a choice too for this week...but i am not planning on using avery for another week or so...but i do think he might be worth a shot...

i like Avery's upside for the latter half of the season, but i do for Earl Bennett as well....which one should i grab?
Ryan/Flacco - Rice/Peterson - V.Cruz, St.Johnson, Den.Moore, Mike (TB) - Hernandez/Rudolph

I'm a diehard Rams fan man, so I know this team like the back of my hand, I watch them religously every week. Avery is our #1. But he hasnt performed it. He has fumbled twice, cant hang onto ball, and can't seem to get any seperation. Yes, the O-line has been miserable, yes the QB's have been not great, but Donnie is to blame too. Him and Keenan Burton, who has great hands, and who has outperformed Avery up to this point are the two clear cut, starters. Avery SHOULD break out soon, and with big armed Kyle Boller throwing to him, they should hook up on a deep route sooner or later. The Rams havent had that defining big play yet. I, myself, cut Avery Week 2 because I saw Laurent Robinson turning into a stud right before my very eyes, now that he is out for the season (UGHHHHHH!!!), Avery is back in that prominent role. Stash Avery on your bench, and hope for the best, he can really only go up from here.

Hope that helps!
