Rice/E Manning for Gore/R Williams - WHIR

Postby oxhammer » Wed Sep 30, 2009 5:02 pm

I've offered Rice/E Manning for Gore/R Williams. It hasn't been rejected yet but no accepted either. My team has an easy schedule the next 3 weeks so I think I can manage to do well while Gore recovers. The other team is 1-2 and looks to go 1-5 based on their matchups. Should I stick with this trade, sweeten the trade, or not do it at all? I've been thinking about offering MJD/Parker/E Manning for Gore/Grant/R Wiliams. That might be too lopsided to their favor though. Thoughts and suggestions?

Most people wouldn't accept the first trade and there's no way you should get rid of MJD like that, for an injured back. Keep it out there I guess, but don't expect much. Honestly, if those are your trade options, sit tight.

As far as straight up value goes, no, most wouldn't take the trade. Gore > Rice. She has no quarterback though. WIth a 14 team league, no chance to upgrade unless it's via trade. Sure, she drops at WR. But, she upgrades at QB in a QB favored league. She also gets a RB that isn't hurt. She can either wait until Gore comes back and tries to make playoffs with a record of 1-5 or she is proactive. Rice and Manning can at least keep her competitive.

The first offer is probably going to get rejected. The second offer will also probably get rejected. (MJD is a stud, but so is Gore and Grant. I'd rather have two pretty good studs than one really good stud. I don't like Williams, but for the mere price of Eli Manning I'd probably take him). If you can swing either trade, kudos to you.

To be honest, I like Burleson more than Williams at this point. Romo isn't getting Williams the ball, you can tell he isn't a true #1. I'd go for that. As long as you're willing to wait for Gore that is.

Thanks for the help. Looks like you have it under control, especially if she will go for the first deal. Wouldn't get rid of MJD, though that could be just because I did that last season and it burned me.
