Schilens WW pick up to stash???

Postby dblj9911 » Wed Sep 30, 2009 9:41 pm

I'm in a 10 team dynasty league, there are very few, if any wavier wire players of any quality available, we have a 25 man roster. So I know that I heard a lot of good things about Schilens before he was hurt and he was supposed to be the best wr in Oakland training camp( I know that isn't saying much). But he has the size, 6'4" 225, to be a good wr in the NFL. Is he worth stashing on my roster and hoping that he turns out? I was thinking of dropping Hixon for him. Any thoughts on this??
Standard scoring league, 0.5 ppr, 6pt all td, start 1qb, 2rb, 3wr, 1te, 1k, 2idp
My Roster:
QB- Palmer, Eli, Orton, Henne
WR-Fitz, Calvin, Colston, Henry, S. Rice, Hixon
RB- AP, DWill, R. Brown, R. Bush, M. Bush, C. Taylor, LJ, Caddy, Bernard Scott
TE- Dallas Clark, O. Daniels
K- Longwell
IDP- Willis, Ryans, Beason

Thanks for looking, WHIR

Yeah, don't drop Hixon. I would stand pat with the team you have and just monitor his progress closely.

Thx for the help.

Best WR in Oakland is like being the tallest midget. Randy Moss couldn't even accomplish anything in Oakland. Jerry Porter was a bust to end all busts. I wouldn't buy. Not that Hixon is far and away better, I just wouldn't touch anything Oakland now.

Thanks for the help with mine - by the way, who would you drop (DMC, McCoy or Breaston) to make the Moreno pickup? (remember, start 3WR, I only have 4 on the roster). I just have this suspicion that McCoy is going to be a premium guy before the season is over.

I have to agree with the pack on the Schillens thing. That's just way too speculative a play, and I don't see anyone targeted by Russell as having any significant value. Good luck!

I agree..I think hixon will be a far better and more consistant option as we move forward and he gets completely healthy. I made the mistake of putting some faith in an oak WR. Not worth it.

Thanks for the help.

The Raiders suck and Russel is the worst QB in the league. No Raider WR is worth a damn!

Help me out:

Let me start off by saying that I'm a Raiders fan. Okay, you can stop laughing now.

Jamarcus Russell sucks the big one! Until he is riding pine, no Oaktown receiver will reach their full potential or worth a roster spot.

With that said, Schilens was Russells favorite target. Those two connected in pre-season regularly. But it was pre-season. Take it for what it's worth.

Me being a homer, I have Schilens stashed on IR.

As long as Russell is at the helm in Oakland, no WR is worth owning.
