Okay, so normally this would seem like an obvious decision, but hear me out.
This week my opponent's QB is Drew Brees. My top WR is Colston. If Brees ends up producing lower numbers against the Jets (top rated pass defense) like he did last week verse Buffalo, would it follow that Colston will have lower numbers as well (Brees got 4 last week, Colston 6). Is it better that I start Colston and let the two offset each other, or do I take a chance and start Manningham (against Kansas City) to perhaps score an advantage if the Jets are solid against Brees and the Saints passing options? One of the reasons I am hesitant to start Manningham is if the Giants get their run game going, they won't have as much reason to throw the ball and Manningham will end up with around 5 points again (see last week against Tampa Bay).
IMHO, the NO/JETS game will be low scoring and won on the ground, not through the air. Manningham has KC. Even if the Giants get their running game going, it opens up the pass since KC will have to move everyone up to deal with the run.
I say roll with Manningham, but, I've been known to be wrong before..

What do you guys think?

Yeah, I am 0-3 (been losing by small margins...like 1 point last week) and I have a stretch of four division opponents here that I need to win, so I am being extra careful.
I guess the only thing I would say is the running game opened up the pass game last week, but that did not translate to fantasy points for Manningham, but Steve Smith. But at the same time, I think they were happy to get their RB's going finally and were perhaps making a statement in sticking with the run.
I guess they also held Tampa Bay scoreless...so it seems like it would not make too much sense to throw it anyway.
Start Colston, the giants will definitely have their running game this week and when that happens Eli only has ~25 pass attempts. Now we know fo sho that Brees is going to throw more then 25 times, i'm just thinking law of averages here.
I can see your points. KC tends to give up the long ball, which falls right into Manninghams game as well. Im still a believer in you have to start your studs, and Colston is certainly yours. Really tough call. Chances are on Monday you'll either consider yourself a genius, or an idiot, lol.
Pretty sure Id go with Colston. My reasoning is that if the Giants get up early, it may be time to grind it out on the ground, whereas I can see the Jets keeping it tight. If thats the case, then it will be business as usual for the Saints game plan, and Colston has his number called early and often. GL with what you choose.
