Who else is about to give up on this site?????????

Postby FFBKING » Thu Oct 01, 2009 7:00 pm

I have posted questions on here 3 to 4 times this season and have received very limited responses despite having answered 60+ questions. The vast majority of those answers I gave were for WHIR posts (over 50) and have gotten about 6 responses total to my questions. If you are gonna put WHIR on your post how about actually returning the favor liars.

Just some friendly advice, you are not going to get more responses by starting whining threads like this.

Okay you are right. You should cry in every new post and maybe you will get more responses.

I know u intended sarcasm, but the fact remains the same that I have gotten more responses to this post in a quicker period of time than any previous "real" football questions I posted. So apparently you proved your own point wrong. Thanks for helping with that.

I definently agree with you. Are there other similar formats?

FFBKING,

Looking through the first several pages of your post history, I see one glaring omission. When people say WHIR, it's generally expected that if you answer their question, you should leave a link to your current question. Otherwise, they have no way to know what you're looking for help on. I see you're pretty new to the site so I'm guessing this was just an oversight. On the few post where you did try to post a link, it was without text and an invalid link, so I don't know if you were trying to helpfully redirect a member to a different post that was related, or a post of your own.

Let me offer a little friendly advice here. You can copy the entire link for your post when you have it open from the address bar and paste it in as-is, which will look like this and be clickable to follow: (I'm pasting a link to this thread for convenience)

posting.php?mode=reply&f=19&t=451320

If you want to make sure it works, once more select the entire address for your question thread, copy it, and then when you reply to someone's question, at the end of your post click the button at the top of the post box that says URL and past your link in between the bracketed tags. if you'd like additional help, don't hesitate to ask. Good luck, I hope this helps make it less frustrating for you.

As a poster on this website for about 5 years, there are certain questions that i respond to and definitely ones i don't. Here are some suggestions for posting questions. You may not need these suggestions but those people for whose posts I won't even read will find these helpful, i think :-?

1. Make the post title what the issue is. ex. jacobs or portis to start. Generic thread titles like what rb to start are always overlooked by me.
2. Make the question brief, too long a question makes for a respondent to have to work too long to answer, the shorter the advice, the more likely you will get a response.

3. Put a little of your own opinion into your thought process, you might get some responses that agree, like your thought process or totally disagree, either way you are more likely to get a response.

4. Don't list your whole squad and say "who should I start?" Those I disregard altogether. You are playing fantasy to manage your own team, if you need help on your whole squad this hobby isn't a good fit for you.

5. Make sure when using whir, that you provide a link when posting to someone else's thread. It's a must.

good luck , hope that helps.

Notice the little car icon under his avatar, with the red H on it, and emergency lights? That denotes the leader of the Cafe Response Team. One can only earn that icon by spending a lot of time in here, helping others by providing useful advice. I'd recommend you follow his, as he's definitely one of the people who can be of help to you.
