Drop FWP for Choice, Mendenhall, Caddy, or Taylor? (WHIR!)

Postby GiantFanatic » Thu Oct 01, 2009 9:54 pm

So FWP has turf toe... not good. He seemed to be climbing back, and based on the impact over the last few seasons the "toe" seems likely to make his 2009 a wash. Is it too early to make a proactive drop? The fact that he mentioned it was "really painful" didn't inspire confidence.

So, thoughts? Any opinions on adding the following in his place?

T. Choice (DAL)
RB3 in Dallas, but he ran well the other night and seems like the only reliable option in Dallas.

Mendenhall (PIT)
Hasn't been inspiring, but he's got a shot now and would seem to have the potential to take over if he makes good on it with FWP basically limping along.

C. Williams (TB)
TB hasn't looked very good, and aside from that week 1 performance he's been kind of bleh. Also in a timeshare fight with Ward. However, everyone else is injured this week... could he take over without getting injured?

F. Taylor (NE)
Looks to be running strong, and most of his competition is injured. However, NE is kind of like Denver of years past, and I have this feeling Sammy will somehow take over again after the bye.

Appreciate any thoughts anyone has. Leave a link and I'll reply in kind.

Thanks,
GF

I would either grab F.Taylor or even try and grab M.Moore on the WW since I think he will be more productive then Mendy if FWP is out for some time.

Taylor has looked good and should continue to do pretty decent although S.Morris/K.Faul/Maroney are there. Choice would be my choice...lol but it all depends on how long MBIII and F.Jones will be out here and there.

I wouldn't drop FWP just yet though....I would monitor the situation and if it doesn't look good then make a swap but at least it will give you a little time to see who will do what!

Good Luck!

I would stay put. I would lean towards Choice but Barber is coming back. FWP had a good week last week, unfortunately his injuries are starting to show up. Give it a week or two.

The problem is that I don't really have anyone else to drop for Mendy or Choice. I don't want to be any thinnier at WR than I am, and outside of Rice (who is healthy and solid on a run first offense) I don't see any other options.

Basically I just want to avoid the situation where I sit with FWP for 8 weeks and he does nothing for me... I mean, TT prevents me from even spot starting him.

Thanks for the response. All additional feedback appreciated.

Thanks,
GF
