Bench Colston?!?!?! **WHIR**

Postby prophecy135 » Fri Oct 02, 2009 8:45 pm

Can I really bench Marques Colston? I know he's reached must start status, but in weeks 1 & 3 the "must start" WO that played the Jets and Revis got shut down. Here are my options are:

Brandon Marshall vs. Dallas
Devin Hester vs. Detroit
Johnny Knox vs. Detroit

I just feel funny about benching a WO who's looking like a stud this year, but Moss and Andre Johnson both have been shut down by Revis so far this year and both are superior WO's to Colston....

I would go talent over matchup this week...NO is too explosive...stay with Colston.

I am going the other way here, NO ran the ball allot last week and you have a good point about Revis. Hester is playing against the Lions with Cutler heating up.

I agree I left Randy Moss in and the Jets shut him down, I think Hester vs. Det is a better matchup

Check it!!!

You can't bench him. If he is open Brees will find him. He will be open at some point and Brees will find him when that time comes. I don't like any of the other options anyhow.

i see some of you, probably the ones with moss and andre johnson, know my fear of revis... I'm not sure how you cannot like the bears wo's against a pretty weak lions secondary.

i'm still thinkin about playin him, cuz i know brees is that good, but i absolutely hate this matchup and the game looks like its gonna be close so i wanna get as many points as possible out of each possition..

I have the same decision and I am going with Hester myself. I think if Colston does perform well, it will be about equal to Hester's production this week anyway since he will be limited by the tougher D. So in my opinion, Hester gives the chance of about the same points without the risk of being shut down. If I were NO and knew that NYJ could shut down Moss and Johnson (two superior receivers), I would see no reason to try to force things to Colston when I have a plethora of other options all over the field. The only passing touchdown NYJ have given up this year was against Nate Washington, who was opposite of Revis on the field. You could argue that Brees is a better quarterback than Scaub and Brady, but really? It is not like Scaub and Brady are push-overs, especially considering their receivers are simply better than Colston.

I agree thta Talent trumps Mathcups. I have Colston, Im playing him. He'll find his mis-matches throughout the game. You just cant bench him, dominant red zone target as well.
