Someone dropped Lendale White and he is currently available on the wire. And since I have C. Johnson, should I pick him up as insurance? If so, who should I drop? My WR's have been less than extraordinary with Burleson scoring the most points thus far in the season. Standard scoring, no PPR. Heres my Roster:
QB: M. Schaub (HOU), J. Flacco (BAL) RB: A. Peterson (MIN), C. Johnson (TEN), K. Smith (DET), D. Brown (IND) WR: A. Boldin (ARI), W. Welker (NE), B. Berrian (MIN), K. Walter (HOU), T. Holt (JAX), N. Burleson (SEA) TE: J. Witten (DAL) PK: S. Gostkowski (NE) DEF: J.E.T.S.
Otherwise here are the available WR's on the wire: K. Washington (BAL), B. Stokley (DEN), E. Bennet (CHI), N. Washington (TEN), M. Clayton (BAL)
I was thinking about picking up E. Bennet since he is a starter on a Bears team which seems to be devoted to tossing the ball.
I would go get White. He will not only act as insurance for C Johnson, but he is likely to pick up more value than he has at this point. Last year you wouldn't be at all crazy to start White and Johnson on a week when you needed a fill in. I don't think White will be quite as valuable this year, but I do think that TEN will get in more goal situations from the 1 and 2 yard lines, and they will still give Lyndel those carries. Look for him to score 8-10 TDs this year and get 400 yards if Chris Johnson stays healthy. A lot more if your C Johnson goes down.
I would grab him to handcuff behind CJ, plus if Johnson goes down he will get all the carries plus he is there goal line back already. I think that your rb's are really deep and I would look to add him, drop either Walters or Holt (seems weird saying that). Good luck.
I'd be dropping Holt for White and also dropping Berrian for Washington. Bennett, like all the Bears receivers except Hester, is likely going to be up one week, down the next, and that's maddening when you're trying to set a lineup. Boldin, Welker (when healthy) and Walter is a solid WR combo, and Washington makes a nice fill in when needed, since we've already seen that Flacco can get him the ball deep.
One other thing - when K Smith is healthy, it's likely you'd be starting him over White most weeks if CJ were to go down. I don't see him as a handcuff so much more like the "other" part of the ground game. He is, however, more valuable to you than to anyone else, so snap him up while you can.
When Smith and Welker are healthy, you might try packaging them in a deal for a stud WR. Good luck!
I would pick him up. Let's face it Holt/Berrian will probably never start on your team and are taking up roster space, whereas White at least serves a purpose (insurance). Make the move.
