WR Help- Wayne, TO, Marshall, S. Moss, Walter

Postby moochieh » Sat Oct 03, 2009 4:28 pm

Hey guys, I would appreciate some advice on which 3 WRs to start this week. Reggie Wayne is a must, but then I need two out of Terrell Owens, Brandon Marshall, Santana Moss, and Kevin Walter (not even considering Garcon). This is a 10 team H2H standard scoring with NO PPR.

I also would like a quick opinion on if I am right to start Slaton and Moreno over Bush, Mendenhall, and Choice. Thanks you guys!

I would go with TO and Walter in a non ppr league. I think TO is in for a big game following is catchless performance last week and with Nnamdi blanketing AJ all day, I think Walter and Owen Daniels could get a lot of looks.

...and yes, you are right to go with Slaton over the others.

Tough choice. I would actually consider Garcon. TO doesn't seem to get targeted, Marshall does but is not seeing the production as of yet and Moss is only good one out of every 4 weeks. (Drives me nuts)

I would go with Marshall and Garcon actually even thogu. Manning should spread the wealth, very tough call however.

Good Luck!

START
Santana Moss: He will be lining up against an iffy, at best, DB crew
Kevin Walter: I think that Oakland is going to line up their talent against Johnson, and Walter should have a decent game. ((though he'd be even better in a PPR league))

Moreno: It's looking like they may still give some goal line away to Hillis, but as long as Moreno continues to impress - he'll soon get the every down AND goal line. McDaniels is in love with this guy
Choice: I don't think Barber is going to take away as much thunder as people are expecting. I think that Dallas is going to be extremely hesitant to give him the ball on the goalline where he'll be more likely to get pounded/reinjured.

Mendenhall is risky because I fear the Mewelde Moore will steal some downs (he is the better receiving back)
Slaton ... I just don't trust. Feast or famine.
TO put up a zero last week - so he could pull a rebound, it's true. But it's a risk that I wouldn't be willing to take. He's losing the trust of his QB (surprise, surprise)

I like walter and TO. TO only because Buff will have to throw all day.

Why aren't you considering Garcon? Manning seems to have really built up a good rapport with him in the last few weeks.

I would probably start Moss and Garcon; if Garcon isn't an option I would do Walter and Moss.

If ist non-ppr i definately would not start K. Walter. He is more like a wes welker type. I would def go T.O. They said they are going to get him the ball a lot more. Mia def isnt that great and they should be playing from behind. Good luck.

Thanks for the help with mine!

Wow, this is an interesting call.

Walter, despite being known as a PPR guy, does have a good matchup here. I think TO will rebound off his zero catch performance (either that, or you KNOW this isn't going to be a good year for him). Marshall is a huge wild card, but Dallas hasn't been incredibly stout against the pass thus far. I am usually low on Moss, but TB has tons of problems is almost every area of the game.

In other words, I could make a case for any of these guys, but I wouldn't be shocked to end up being dead wrong. (Sorry; that doesn't sound incredibly confident!)

My gut says TO bounces back and Moss makes some plays against TB. So I'd go with those 2 guys here. I'll be interested to see further thread replies and keep digesting others' opinions.

I like Slaton and Choice as the RBs - Choice is going to be the top option for DAL this week, and I like his ability to make plays for them. I'm not ready to give up on Slaton yet, but I am getting concerned at this point.

Good luck!

I just figured that I had so many viable options that I didn't want to put it all on two Colts recievers. I know every one of these receivers can have a big game. Many think TO will bounce back, Walter will be open with Asamougha on Johnson, Marshall is evidently out of the doghouse, Moss went crazy last game and plays TB, and Garcon has been a great replacement for Gonzalez. It's a shame there are no trades in this league. Very important decision because last week not playing Santana Moss cost me 2 wins (H2H plus one for being in top half of league in points). Thanks for the replies so far and please keep the suggestions flowing.
