Need help with who to drop. WHIR

Postby zacks288 » Sat Oct 03, 2009 7:28 pm

I don't have anyone to start for me at TE or DEF because of the bye week and need help with who to drop and who to pick up. Its a standard scoring no ppr league. There are 14 teams so its somewhat deep. Each team had 15 players and starts QB, RB, WR, WR, TE, Flex, K, D.

My team:
QB: Peyton Manning
RB: Slaton
Flex: Moreno
WR: Roy Williams
WR: Housh
TE: Tony Gonzalez (bye week)
K: Tynes
DEF: Eagles (bye week)
Bench:
Hasselbeck (injured)
Cadillac Williams
Bell (injured)
Derrick Ward
Fitzgerald (bye week)
Steve Smith (panthers) (bye week)
Breaston (bye week)

TE's on Waiver Wire: Crumpler, Jermichael Finley, Pettigrew, Desmond Clark, Fasano
DEF on WW: NO playing Jets, BUF playing MIA, SD playing PIT, IND playing SEA, NE playing , JAX playing , HOU playing OAK

Which two players do you guys think I should cut and who should I pick up? Or should I only cut 1 player and not even bother to pick up a TE because the waiver wire options are so poor. I'm having a hard time deciding here so any input would be great.

Thanks and leave a link so I can return the favor

Whoever you drop you will probably lose in that deep of a league. Seeing as it's too late to package players in a trade, drop Hasselbeck, he may not play by Peyton's bye week anyways, unless you're in love with Philly, they go. Take N.O.'s D cuz they can score big time. Unless you're undefeated and can live with losing by a couple of points, I'd say dump Ward as Tampa Stinks and grab Fasano with new QB looking to dump off. Also, you don't need Breaston with Fitzgeral already on the team.
Good Luck with your team(s), unless you're playin' mine.

Thanks. Ya this all kind of fell on me fast. I had shockey but got offered steve smith for him straight up this week because the other team had fasiano and was actually losing points on TE and I was trying to package and trade some people but a guy for some reason offered me slaton and housh for knox and reggie bush which i had to take but left me without enough time to find a trade partner to get a TE.

I'm not sure if I want to drop philly's d just because it has been consistently scoring more than the league average for defenses and all the WW d's are inconsistent.

I'm in third place in my league so I don't know if it would be that bad if I lost but based on the TE's on the WW I would only be gaining 1 or 2 points by having one of them start. Ward is looking like the most likely person for me to drop and if I drop someone else I'm thinking Bell now that Thomas is back. Any other thoughts?
