I currently have the Bears and Titans defense on my roster. The Titans defense is seemingly worthless at this point, and need to be dropped, plus the Bears have a bye this week, so I need a replacement. These are the Defense/Special Teams that are available on the waiver wire in my league, and their opponents this week. None are particularly attractive, even as a bye-week replacement; most aren't even above .500, but here they are:
and the rest of the teams aren't even worth mentioning...
I think it's basically a choice between the Colts and Texans...I think the Texans have better big play potential, but their matchup isn't so great, so I'm leaning toward the Colts....what do you think?
Thanks in advance..

i would actually say the Bills because of the browns laughable offense, granted they cant do what SF did last week but they will still be able to shutdown cleveland IMO

I like the Bills as well, simply because of the matchup this week. However, I was looking for a defense that I may be able to use again, based on matchup. My other defense is the Bears, and while they are decent, I'm not sure I am going to want to start them every week, especially when they play high scoring teams like Green Bay and Minnesota..I think if I grabbed the Colts or Texans, I may be able to swap them in for the Bears once in a while, if the matchup is favorable..whereas if I pick up Buffalo, I really can't see using them again...So it's basically a choice between: A. Picking up Buffalo, starting them this week against Cleveland during the Bears bye (and expecting a pretty good game), starting the Bears the rest of the season and hoping for the best.. or B. Picking up the Colts (or maybe Texans), starting them this week during Bears bye and expecting a decent output, then choosing between Bears and Colts (or Texans) each week depending on which defense has the better matchup...
Hmmm..Leaning towards "A" at the moment; Grabbing the Bills, hoping for a good week during the Bears bye, and riding the Bears for the rest of the season...
Suggestions?

id like to see those other defenses you say are not worth mentioning.
if Jaguares are one of them, then i would pick up the jags defense for many reasons...if you want a reason then let me know, and i will tell you, but i dont feel like typing alot..lol
Take the bills defense, they have the best matchup this week

Yes, the Jags were one of the ones I considered "not worth mentioning," but I did actually take a look at them (they are one of the best of the bunch). The Jags do have some GREAT matchups on their schedule, some games against bad teams where they may be able to put up big numbers (@Seattle, STL!, @Ten, KC!, Buf, @Clev!), however they haven't done much yet to earn much consideration (5pts, 4pts, 6, and 6 respectively according to the scoring in my league), however they have played against 4 strong offenses thus far..I guess you are expecting a big turnaround?
The other teams I didn't list which I considered "not worth mentioning" were: Jags, Dolphins, Raiders, Seahawks, Lions, Chiefs, Browns, Rams, Bucs... can't really see even CONSIDERING any of those teams, regardless of matchup, other than Jags and Fins...Chiefs, Rams, Raiders, Browns, Bucs, and Lions are really the bottom rung of the NFL, much worse than the rest of the league..they will probably win 20 games between them
