Alright, I'm pretty down on Ryan Grant and Willis McGahee at this point. Even when Grant doesn't have a tough matchup, he doesnt do a whole lot. McGahee has been getting TDs, but I don't know how much longer that will last since Ray Rice seems to be getting all the carries. Case in point: McGahee had 5 carries for 11 yards last week, and saved himself from being a Week 4 bust by catching a TD pass. A guy in my league is shopping Slaton, and since this is a PPR league, I am very interested.
My roster (bye week guys are on the bench):
PPR League QB Shaun Hill QB Kurt Warner WR Reggie Wayne WR Kevin Walter WR Steve Smith (NYG) RB Brian Westbrook RB Rashard Mendenhall TE Dallas Clark W/R/T Willis McGahee W/R/T Ray Rice BN Willie Parker BN Pierre Thomas BN Greg Jennings BN Drew Brees BN LeSean McCoy
I would do it, Grant can't seem to get it going, McGahee cannot possibly keep up the TD pace and he and rice split, and Slaton finally had a breakout game.
Maybe i'm blind but i dont even see Grant on your roster. That being said I would do this because you have plenty of depth at RB and Slaton is the best of the 3 involved.
Yeah sorry about that, I was trying to adjust my lineup to show the active guys I have this week. I had Grant active last week, and when I adjusted my lineup I just forgot to put him on the bench part of my roster.
I don't know that I'd do this. I own Grant and Rice, and yes, have been a little frustrated. But consider: Rodgers is getting KILLED out there because they can't protect him. The 8 sacks on MNF kind of proved that to everyone. That means more check downs to Grant and more running plays in general, I think. Grant was pretty productive with the touches he did get (4.6 ypc, 50 yds receiving). Also consider that November and December are coming, and in Green Bay, that's when the RB's earn their money. Take away the td run that Slaton had last week, and he gave you a whopping 2 ypc. Personally, I think you'd be trading one guy who can do better and is on the upswing for another guy who can do better that isn't consistent at all, and throwing in a td scorer as a bonus.
Your roster is loaded - why not try to package for a stud instead of a mid-tier RB?
I've tried packaging for a stud RB, but people in my league seem to undervalue by RB's. For instance, I just traded Eddie Royal straight up to get McGahee, and the guy I traded with has MJD. But I want to throw McGahee into a deal, and obviously he won't want him back. I also tried to trade for Steven Jackson, and his owner basically demanded Reggie Wayne and Pierre Thomas for him. Besides, there have been so many "stud" RBs who haven't done much this year (i.e. LT and DeAngelo Williams), that I'm not even sure who really qualifies as a stud anymore.
I would do it no question but I doubt the guy would accept that. You certainly have the depth to withstand Grant's loss and I agree, McGahee's value has hit its peak.
