Sims-Walker for Forte

Postby JrcWy » Wed Oct 07, 2009 11:13 am

Standard Yahoo Scoring with no PPR. She has offered Forte and Sproles for my Sims Walker. Seems like a good sell high/buy low for me but I'm already lighter on WRs than RBs. Thoughts? Also, I don't know if there is anyone worth dropping to get Sproles in the deal, maybe Heap?

QB Carson Palmer
WR1 Wes Welker
WR2 Derrick Mason
WR3 Mike Sims-Walker
RB1 Brandon Jacobs
RB2 LaDainian Tomlinson
TE Brent Celek
WR/RB Ronnie Brown
BN Larry Johnson
BN Lee Evans
BN Todd Heap
BN Devery Henderson
BN Matt Hasselbeck
BN Earl Bennett

Out of context, this is a deal worth taking. Forte finally showed his potential last week, and I think he only gets better as Cutler gets more comfortable in Chicago. Sims-Walker has a lot of potential, but he's still a relative unknown. Tossing Sproles into the mix is a little odd, except that he makes the perfect handcuff for you since you already have LT. With LT back, his value is limited, especially in non-PPR formats, for you his value is immense. So, this is a deal I'd take in and I'd probably take it even with your roster. That said, if you ship off Sims-Walker, you'll have to come up with another trade down the line to get some #1 WRs.

As for who to drop...that's a tough one. I would consider dropping Larry Johnson. He's been a dud thus far, and the Chiefs have been lame on offense. But, Todd Heap is a good option to drop as well.

Do it now, think later, drop Bennett or Devery.

I think Sproles is going to continue to have value and I'd definitely take this deal. Forte being in it is a no brainer. Drop Henderson, he's so hit or miss, he's just a deep threat for the saints, nothing more, he might get 5 TD's this year and 30 catches tops particularly with them running the ball so much now. I'd take it.

Thanks for the help guys. This was all proposed through email but she backed off a little and offered up Sproles OR Forte. I still pulled the trigger on MSW for Forte. In this case, I have LT2, Forte, Ronnie Brown, and Jacobs with the ability to only start 3 in a week. I felt more comfortable having Forte to fall back on if LT goes down again that I would starting a full-time Sproles.

Thanks!

I think you have to do this, if only for the LT/Sproles handcuff. I would drop Heap and then if things don't work out with your current WRs you should be able to deal a RB for a WR later on down the line

no brainer at all for you. take it

Forte is a nice upgrade of LT..and now you have sproles

you have welker and mason already..you are fine, and i would think about trading LT and sproles for nice wr...see if anyone will bite on a WR2...umm..i would drop heap too..you have celek, and there is no more bye weeks for philly.

start lee evens or bennet in replace of sims walker

this trade is very good for you especially if you are in a dynasty league

I would veto this trade if it happened in my league.
