Rank these receivers - WHIR

Postby oxhammer » Wed Oct 07, 2009 12:28 pm

Now that Edwards has been traded, I need opinions again. Please rank these receivers based on their value for this weekend and also rank them for their value over the season, thanks!

Eddie Royal - NE
Braylon Edwards - Mia
Steve Breaston - Hou
Hakeem Nicks - Oak
Mohamed Massaquoi - Buf

50 passing yards = 1 point
20 rushing/receiving yards = 1 point
Touchdown = 6 points
Interception/Fumble = -2 points
Return Touchdowns = 6 points
2-Point Conversions = 2 points

in reality

1.Massaquoi
2.Bryalon Edwards & Hakeem Nicks
3. Eddie Royal
4. Breaston

1. Massaquoi

With the departure of Brylon Edwards combined with the break out game of Mazzaquoi. Massaquoi is the Starting No 1 Reciever of
the browns. Browns seemed to finally establish a running game plan with Harrison, and the way derek anderson is looking(2007 form)
I see nothing but 2007 Edwards numbers coming from Massaquoi. He is also a rookie, which means he will only improve and is especially nice to have in Dynasty leagues.

2. Edwards and Nicks.

Reason why im giving them a dead even tie is because Edwards is finally on a team he can improve on(Jets). With the jets hard running game, and cotchery, and keller to draw some attention from him..i expect his numbers to soar once he fully learns that offense. He suits up monday night and the jets have something to prove.

Hakeem Nicks would of been the starter if he wasnt previously injured, and now he is back, and the giants are already talking about renewing his starting flanker role. Nicks catches everything thrown his way..he is taller, faster, and smarter then manningham. (giants no 1 pick). Makes sense..manningham dropped 3 sure passes including and endzone pass last week, and his protudtion the previous week with all attention on steve smith was just not there...very inconsistant. However..hicks comes into the game and hauls in a nearly 50 yard TD pass. Very consistant, and i can see equal production to what steve smith is going to be putting up soon.

going foward...i put nicks ahead of brylon and possibly massaquoi as well. he is equal to edwards now cause im a lil concerned about elis foot.

4. Eddie Royal

Brandon marshall is back, and looking like his old self, denver finally realizes he is the man they needed, and he has great rapport with his coaches now,..and team. Eddie royals production was hurt cause he just simply wasnt big enough to take on all the defenders looking his way..not as big as marshall. now that teams realize marshall is back to normal, this will leave more breathing space for bigs plays from eddie royal...expect the production of last year going foward...

5. Breaston

Boldin and Fitz are the starting 1 and 2. everyone i voted ahead of breaston are the starting flanker/split ends and have more chance for better production going foward. Warners arm is not were it was last year either...breaston holds only value in 12team leagues.

RBwhore, thanks for the great response!

I dropped Holt and Gage for Nicks and Massaquoi Monday. Edwards is currently on waivers. I'd have to use my waivers to pick Edwards up. I don't think waivers would be worth using to take Edwards over Nicks. So, it looks like I'll be sticking with Nicks. I don't have anyone else I can drop...unless I drop Gonzales. Any more opinions?
